The snow fairy isn’t back — she never went away! Saara Aalto, the leading lady who represented Finland at this year’s Eurovision, is doing better than great. And that’s reflected by this year’s nominations for the Finnish Emma Gala Awards. The prestigious event is arranged annually by Musiikkituottajat – IFPI Finland, recognising the most distinguished artists and music professionals of the year.

Naturally the “Monsters” was on the list. She earned nominations for “Female Artist Of The Year”, while “Monsters” earned a nod in the category “Best Music Video Of The Year”. The gala will be held in Helsinki on the 2nd of February 2019.

Saara Aalto shared the news and thanked her fans through her social media:

The most viewed YouTube video of the year in Finland

Saara’s Emma nominations are not the only accomplishments she’s enjoyed of late.

Recently Ilta-Sanomat reported that “Monsters” was the most viewed YouTube video of the year in Finland with over 3.5 million views. I ain’t scared no more!

Dancing on Ice

You thought that was all? Wrong! As we all know, Saara loves new challenges and trying new things. And now she is preparing for a new adventure. And this time it’s skating!

That’s right: Saara announced in early October that she will be competing in next year’s Dancing On Ice. She revealed her skating partner on Instagram with a picture of her standing next to Hamish Gaman, the 2015 British national champion.

After announcing her participation, Saara has posted a series of videos of her practices on Instagram and it looks like she is natural talent when it comes to skating. And while she won’t be throwing any triple axles, we’re keen to see her attempt a layback for sure!

If she’s this good already, just imagine how great she can be in the future! Make sure to follow Saara’s journey in the contest which starts on Sunday, the 6th of January.
