From Olivia Newton-John to Celine Dion via Julia Iglesias and Katrina & The Waves, Eurovision is often a step on the way to international stardom. And while music is usually the goal, countless acts go on to have successful careers as TV presenters, actors and media personalities. It’s with this in mind that we launched Eurovision’s Next Top Model nearly 10 years ago — to see which act has the charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent to succeed as a star long after the Eurovision glory fades.

This year 26 women entered ENTM — the premiere online modelling contest for the women of the Eurovision Song Contest. Our readers voted with their fingers, clicking up a storm and tallying nearly 16,000 votes. And in the end one woman stood above the rest. She’s the queen of Spain’s Operacion Triunfo. And now she’s a queen among queens. Eurovision’s Next Top Model 2018 is Amaia Romero.

Amaia exudes a girl-next-door quality. Despite her growing celebrity and larger-than-life talent, she’s maintained an innocence and class that will serve her well in the years ahead. Her fierce beauty comes with a light touch — she’s at once strong, but open to being vulnerable, fashion-forward but rooted in Spanish tradition. She’s ticking all the boxes and making our jaws drop in the process.

In recent months — as tabloids speculated about her relationship status with Eurovision duet partner Alfred Garcia — Amaia remained above the fold. She seems to have tuned the drama out and instead focused on releasing her stunning debut single “Un Nuevo Lugar” (A New Place).

The celestial anthem proves that she doesn’t need to shout for her talent to resonate with an audience. Amaia captures, grips and casts a spell with this sweet and thoroughly arresting ballad. Bonfire with friends, church, yoga class or simply at home — this song will leave you enchanted and wanting more no matter what the scene. Amen, namaste, girl you slay!

Two other women have earned a spot in the coveted Top Model Hall of Fame.

The first is Cyprus’ Eleni Foureira — easily the best dancer of Eurovision 2018 — who narrowly missed out on the title. She fell short of the crown by around 200 votes. If her manicure wasn’t so perfect we’d call this a nail-biter! Since Eurovision she’s continued to charm the masses, performing to sold-out venues from London to Madrid to Tel Aviv. Her fuego still burns bright and it ain’t going out any time soon.

Joining her is Lithuania’s Ieva Zasimauskaite. The “When We’re Old” singer is a Hare Krishna, which may explain the peace and tranquility she exudes at every turn — from stage to runway.

For me the most beautiful lady this year was Franka from Croatia, with Elina Nechayeva from Estonia in second place and SuRie from the UK in third.
Laura Rizzotto, Amaia, Aisel, Lea Sirk and Cláudia Pascoal are also very pretty IMO.

I like Amaia. In this competition should participate only make up free pictures.

sure, she won because of spanish fans, but im happy that it was her and not elena. Amaia is not your typical beauty but she’s pretty, she has a weird look that is attractive, depending on your taste. Elena is literally a kim kardashian wannabe, most women wanna copy that specific look and i dont find it beautiful at all. She probably had botox as well.

are you talking about elina or eleni?

eleni, elina is a natural beauty too.

I am incapable of seeing how she could possibly be a model. She’s pretty ugly and she doesn’t even have that much personality. She’s decently sweet, but not like Ieva, who actually has a “girl next door” look about her. Eleni wouldn’t have been perfect, because she uses so much make up, extensions and plastic surgery, but if you look at her instagram, you’ll see that she has natural beauty. Biased voting by the most annoying fanbase.

Beauty is skin-deep.

And this is Eurovision’s Next Top Model, a not so legit modeling competition. It is not meant to be taken seriously and just allow people to have a little fun in their lives during the lull period between contests by taking part in these polls.

Give me a break. She’s so ugly… Not unpretty, ugly! When she smiles it’s cringe! Eleni, Elina and Aisel are feminine and natural beauties. How can this woman be named Female Top Model of the year?

Because the poll is all for fun.

Amaia is very beautiful and at the same time her beauty does not intimidate or make feel insecure the viewer.

He’s right, actually. She’s cringe… Totally not deserving Eurovision Next Top Model title, let’s be honest. In my opinion, Aisel from Azerbaijan is a pure beauty…but hey, the Azers are not hacking this poll, as Spanish readers do…

Ok, slow your roll. I will admit she’s below average in looks and that the only good angle I’ve ever seen of her is the single cover where she partially obscured. But to say her smile is cringe is too far.

Elina was my choice but oh well

Happy that natural beauty prevailed over the drag race wannabe who applied for the wrong contest

So what if she’s a natural beauty? Amaia still doesn’t look like a top model from any angle. I’m pretty sure you were that salty person who downvoted my comment.

I’ve been watching Asia’s Next Top Model since 2012. The alumnis includes Aastha Pokharel, Aimee Cheng-Bradshaw, Ayu Gani, Beauty Thet Thinn, Celine Duong, Jachin Manere, Nguyen Thuy Trang, Sang In Kim, Sheena Liam, Tawan Kedkong. Those are actual TOP MODELS, unlike Amaia.

You’re taking this fan poll a little too seriously. This is all for fun.

RIGGED.

Eleni Foureira or Elina Nechayeva should’ve won.

This is just as rigged as the actual Asia’s Next Top Model (Cycle 6) this year, with Dana Slosar (Thailand) winning over actual stunners like Beauty Thet Thinn (Myanmar) and Jachin Manere (Philippines).

Jachin was part of the mean girls clique who didn’t like Mia so I was glad she was out.

Amaia fits well in 20th place. No other people are talking about her or Alfred during the contest except for Spanish fans.

Christina Caramarcu (Romania) and Julia Samoylova were robbed imo.

This contest is as rigged as OT itself.

I prefer Almaia rather than the hair extensions diva Foureira (I didn’t vote on this and I’m not spaniard)
