supernova 2019 semi final poll

Supernova is back again as Latvia’s national selection for Eurovision 2019. This year, 16 acts were selected to perform in the contest. Among them are returning artists Markus Riva, Samanta Tina and Edgars Kreilis. One of these 16 competing artists will earn the right to represent Latvia in Tel Aviv.

The Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of music unprofessionals — has sat down to review the 16 tracks. With Latvia having been absent from the Eurovision grand final since 2016, the Wiwi Jury is hoping to change that by finding a song that can go all the way in 2019.

Our jury for Supernova 2019 consists of 14 jurors. They come from Australia, Germany, Iceland, Latvia, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Each juror assesses each song independently, and awards each song a score from 0 to 10. Before calculating the Wiwi Jury verdict, we drop the highest and lowest scores to reduce potential bias and outliers.

We will be reviewing the songs two at a time over the coming days. You can read each review by clicking on the song title below.
