It’s the only microstate to have made it to a Eurovision Grand final in the modern era.
And although San Marino may only have made the grand final once, broadcaster RTV remains undeterred.
In fact, it confirmed San Marino’s tenth participation at Eurovision back in November. The only mystery now is which “international artist” will represent la República at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.
Rumours have swirled since. Today RTV chose to address rumours about two artists in particular.
Daryana Kraieva to represent San Marino at Eurovision 2019?
The first is Russian singer Daryana Kraieva.
Her hat has been throw into the ring by a post on her website. In it, her team says she’s already been picked to represent San Marino.
What’s more, they say the deal was inked, “a long time ago.”
The song remains a mystery – the singer says it may be in Italian, English and Russian – but participation seems assured. And homegirl sounds confident.
Speaking about San Marino’s chances, Daryana says she thinks it will “definitely” qualify and “maybe even win.”
What about the Human Ken Doll?
The other “artist” RTV commented on is Rodrigo Alves, better known to the world as the “Human Ken Doll”.
He’s a controversial figure, with a plethora of plastic surgeries and problematic statements to his name. He drew Eurofan attention with this Instagram post:

In it, he says he can’t wait to share his “new project” with fans “soon”, which could put him in the frame to be San Marino’s singer.
RTV will unveil the chosen act at a Press Conference on January 21.
Unfortunately for anxious Eurofans, they’ll have to wait until then, as RTV’s post today refused to confirm or deny either artist for Eurovision 2019.

To be honest that internetional artist could be MARZIA GAGGIOLI. She’s Italian but is pretty known in Poland since she records in Polish which is and sound funny beacuse she doesn’t know the language.She has recorded some songs in German and Spanish. She has many hits on YT. I think it sounds international and still the same level as Ken and Russian girl.
Oh boy… San Marino might as well sit this one out if they have seriously given either of these two a thought.
Cringe. Both are awful. If San Marino chooses a “joke” entry (rather awful in this case, it has to be funny to be a joke) I will no longer support its participation. Also, if that Russian singer is telling the truth, she is being very delusional about winning with that vocals, song and look.
Who give more money will represent San Marino. It is sad why San Marino don t follow step of Luxembourg in contest. Luxembourg almost every year was chosen artist and authors from foreign countries (sometimes they send famous singer and famos composers) and they had good result 5 wins, 2 times 3rd place.
But Luxembourg is way richer.

That would mean she’s good for electronic tracks, that’s a relief!
Ugh can we have Irol representing San Marino please? If they want to be unique Hip Hop is one of the most underrated genres in eurovision and he is amazing as a rapper.

The fact she said she’s representing San Marino makes me think it isn’t her, as she’d have probably signed something or agreed to keep it secret until the announcement. Artist/Song reveals have leaked plenty of times in the past, but contestants wouldn’t leak their own participation if there’s a press conference in place.
Then again Sam Marino is a mess, and if she is their act she’s probably paying for it, so can do whatever she wants I guess.
If Rodrigo is picked, we need to start a petition to stop this racist representing San Marino. There are so many people and countries who want a chance and San Marino are a waste of 3 minutes each year. Smh

Anyway, I’m not really convinced by neither of them. The first sounds too confident and the second looks like a joke to me… but I’m going to refrain myself to develop an opinion about both of them until the song is released. Really curious to see what San Marino has in store for this year…
So let’s see who paid San Marino’s participation fee this year. 2012-2015: Siegel paid for everything. 2016: Serhat paid for everything and probably that corrupt channel got some money too 2017: Again Siegel 2018: That whole show was corrupt from the beginning till the end. That sounds like the best option probably. That way they are pretty much guaranteed to get a quality act that won’t crash out in the semi final. Or just send Irol, he’s from San Marino and he actually wants to do it. But these 2 “stars” won’t get them absolutely anywhere.

Remember a few months ago when 1 IN 360 tweeted something that made everyone think that San Marino was using them again. And then everyone was all happy thinking about having another crazy national final featuring all the leftovers from other national finals and it just seemed so perfect and wholesome for 2019.

She doesn’t want to take part as of the moment. She made some tweets about it after Spanish people trolled that she will return to the contest this year.
How exactly do these non-statements address anything? So desperate for attention. If these clowns were not chosen, how hard is it to say so? Any publicity is good publicity for them, eh? Thank god delusional characters claiming they can/will win never do. Even at Eurovision, you need to have a little talent, besides money. Although Azerbaijan almost proved my theory wrong in 2011.

I’d rather a withdrawal than either of these artists, and I’m never quick to say that. Why can’t they just pull a Luxembourg/Monaco and select artists from Italy? Nobody wants this trash, and they’re just gonna get last in their semi again.
