Denmark’s national broadcaster, DR, has just revealed its hosts for Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2019.
Returning as host for the third time in a row will be former Lighthouse X singer Johannes Nymark. He will be joined on stage by Kristian Gintberg – an experienced children’s host.
Kristian Gintberg says he is very proud of his new hosting gig.
“It is the biggest programme DR has and it is at the same time a tradition. It is kind of like the European Championship in football – only for music. I’m very proud to be the host”, he tells DR’s Grand Prix site.
The DMGP host debutant also reveals that he has heard this year’s selection of songs.
“I’ve had a quick sniff to some of the songs, and I can say, that they are insanely good”.
His experienced Dansk Melodi Grand Prix co-host Johannes Nymark is looking forward to hosting the contest for the third time in a row.
“It’s been a fun development in my life – first competing myself in Melodi Grand Prix and then hosting it. The more you try it, the more comfortable you feel. This means that I can relax even more in the role this year. Practice makes perfect”, the former Eurovision participant says.
For the last two years it has been Annette Heick who has been on the stage with Johannes Nymark. The popular entertainer and singer appears in a funny cameo with Johannes Nymark and Kristian Ginberg where she apparently thinks that she is going to be one of hosts again, but is rejected by the other two. Watch the video here.
Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will take place in Boxen in Herning on 23 February and the songs are expected to be revealed within the next couple of weeks.
What do you think about the two hosts? And what kind of songs are you hoping for at DMGP? Let us know in the comment’s box below.
They say this every year and the reality is none of the “winners” materialise.
Denmark is already doing well in the betting odds before any of the DMGP songs have even been released so I’m expecting something great!
Denmark is high in betting odds because the good result Rasmussen had in 2018, but in 2019 the result can be even higher. Is Ryk in this competition as song- writer? And is Sada Vidoo here. If not, why?
No and no. 🙂 Sada wasn`t great in 2017. 😉
I would be happy if ONE, just one of those songs actually turned out to be “insanely good”.
I can tell you one of them are, and will be a contender for the win. 😉
I certainly hope so. It’s about time after those last couple of years. So you know the acts already?
Yes, i do. 🙂
Just between you and me: give me all the details. I won’t tell. 😛
Hihi, I would wish I could. Overall the strongest selection in many years, and two or three very strong songs. One of them a contender. 😉
