The search for France’s next Eurovision act is about to reach its climax. With another four acts qualifying from the second semi-final on Saturday, the line-up is now complete. There are 8 acts in the grand final of Destination Eurovision fighting for the ticket to Tel Aviv. But who will earn the right to call themselves the successor of Madame Monsieur?

Eight acts managed to gather enough points from both international juries as well as the French public to advance to the grand final. Can Semi-Final 1 winner Bilal Hassani live up to his song title “Roi” and emerge as France’s Destination Eurovision king? Or will Semi-Final 2 winner Seemone have us seeing her in Tel Aviv? Or could one of the semi-final runners-up — that’s Chimene Badi or Emmanuel Moire — take this in the end? We’re ready for a tense final…why don’t you just check out all the songs for yourself and then vote in our poll?

Destination Eurovision 2019: Grand Final

The grand final includes Bilal Hassani, Chimène Badi, Silvàn Areg, Aysat, Seemone, Emmanuel Moire, The Divaz, and Doutson.

Below you can listen to all of their clips. Then vote in our poll. You can vote for as many songs as you’d like, but you can only vote one time. Be sure to click next to the acts you would like to see in Tel Aviv before pressing submit.

Bilal Hassani – “Roi”

Chimène Badi – “Là-haut”

Silvàn Areg – “Le petit Nicolas”

Aysat – “Comme une grande”

Seemone – “Tous les deux”

Emmanuel Moire – “La promesse”

The Divaz – “La voix d’Aretha”

Doutson – “Sois un bon fils”

Who should win the grand final of Destination Eurovision?

Bilal’s fans can spam and hijack all the polls they want, but at the end of the day it’s what happens on stage in those three minutes that really count. The song I feel that could give France success at Eurovision is Seemone’s because it’s simple, she can sing live, and it makes you feel something deep inside you. Yes, I know it’s another song about a father-child relationship, but what person doesn’t have the same strong feelings and emotional connection to their fathers? Bilal’s song never connected with me like Seemone’s did and it’s practically the same clichés that… Read more »

Read more »

In case the winner of Destination Eurovision wins the contest in May, France’s largest arena is located in the Bercy district of Paris. The next largest facility is the Sud de France arena in Montpellier, followed by the Olympic Ice Center in Grenoble, where Peggy Fleming gave Team USA their only gold medal of the 1968 Winter Games.

If not Bilal or Seemone, France should instead send Silvàn or The Divaz.

Agree with Sylvan , not with the Divaz because “La Voix d’Aretha” is so unoriginal (great voice but unoriginal song). Sylvan Areg is original and would stand out. He is on my top 3 between Seemone (1st) and Bilal (3rd)

Sylvan’s song is SUCH a delight and the staging is so fun and clever and creative – I’m hoping against all hope that France sends this and brings some fun to Eurovision! I don’t think any of the songs will necessarily win the contest, so why not have fun and show something neat and different to the stage? 🙂

I hope people dont trust this poll. Bilal and his superfans have shared the poll on Twitter so superfans vote several times. The real winner actually is Seemone

Roi is boring and as generic as it can get. I think Bilal should return in a few years with more experience, more confidence and above all, a far better song. For this year, France should try something different and send Silvàn to Tel Aviv.

Their entry had the most polish and is so, so, so fun.

I am happy with any of these winning, to be honest. France can’t really go wrong here. There’s something there for everyone.
I am a personal fan of Emmanuel, but I love Bilal’s vibe and Seemone’s emotion. Then there are the power voices: Chimène and Les Divas – respect for them. For “contemporary”, go for Doutson and Aysat, whereas for the most quirky, read Silvàn. That’s literally everyone. Bonne chance.

Y’all need to stop hatin on bilal his performance was obviously the best and a million times better then seeboring who will FLOP if she is sent to Tel Aviv and another thing if someone comes on her expressing their support for bilal they get so my vote downs. Y’all need to stop. Bilal is the best

Bilal has a nice voice and a good song which suits the ESC slogan “Dare to Dream” because of the lyrics (“quand je rêve je suis un roi = when I dream I’m a king”) but Seemone has an amazing voice and her song is very “french” and touching even if you don’t understand.

Indeed. ‘Roi’ has an attitude and a sleek production, while ‘Tous les Deux’ has emotions and stripped down performance.

I want Seemone to win. I was deeply moved by her performance and I love that her song sounds super French, but at the same time can reach people from different backgrounds. Chimène, Silván, The Divaz and Emmanuel would be pretty decent acts for Eurovision, though I believe the later one should tone down all that choreography. I don’t think it would be a disaster if Bilal gets the ticket to Tel Aviv, because there’s still a lot they can do to improve his entry. But I feel that picking him would be putting style over substance.

To me it’s seemone, from the beginning it captivated me deeply and I see this as a potential contender for the winning spot at France, esc, I’m not sure. I get the buzz around Bilal, and he did really well both with TV and JV, but I can’t ignore that most of the buzz around it had to do with his looks and the reminiscences to Conchita. He is a good singer and also a contender at both France’s NF and ESC. What I don’t get is “La promesse”, sure he performs well and he sings great but his song… Read more »

I think the winner will be Chimène, Emmanuel or Bilal. Unlike last year when I was sure from the start that Madame Monsieur would go to Lisbon, I think this time everything is possible and the scores will be tight. We’ll see, I hope we’ll have a good surprise. My favorite top : 1 – Chimène Badi « Là-haut » 2 – Emmanuel Moire « La promesse » 3 – Bilal Hassani « Roi » 4 – Silvan Areg « Le petit Nicholas » 5 – The Divaz « La voix d’Aretha » 6 – Doutson « Sois un bon… Read more »

I don’t get where you get Chimene is a possible contestant, her scenario was amazing but the song is super trashy and her vocals unimpressive. The real fight is among Seemone, Emmanuel and Bilal. Sometimes is hard to recognize it is not your top 3 the one you’ll look, just like I did with my initial placing of “La Promesse” which I thought was easily the worst ballad, hence me personally giving this a 17th place

Unimpressive? Seriously? The only ones that can compete with Chimene in terms of quality and range of voice is The Divaz. Emmanuel has a very beautiful voice, but not so full. Bilal is not yet “mature” in his voice, but if he works well, it will be much better in the years to come. Seemone not only has no voice, but moreover she has made the most horrible false note I have heard among all this year’s candidates. Thank you but NEXT.

Sorry, but It’s not possible for Chimène and Emmanuel Moire too. Compare televotes and jury. Chimène: Beaten by Bilal in televote, low in jury vote. It’s only between Bilal and Bilal and maybe Seemone but if Bilal fan’s have still some phone credits, it will be a no match. especially if Chimène and Emmanuel’s fans don’t report their vote to the only other contender able to win in both votes. To be honest, this NF is a pure farce when you know that there isn’t any limit for the number of votes per phone number. Only the TV broadcaster and… Read more »

Except that Bilal will have fewer votes in the final, and it will not even be related to his performance. The same evening, on the main competing TV channel, there is the return of “Qui veut gagner des millions” (French adaptation of “Who wants to be a millionaire”) with a host that teens love. If the teenagers watch the other channel, they will totally forget to vote. The usual audience of France 2, who is rather old and not a specialist in Eurovision will vote for someone he knows: so Chimène or Emmanuel. For this audience it’s just one show… Read more »

For me it’s clearly Seemone! Great voice, beautiful song, bery french but modern at the same time, intimate, true, with touching lyrics! I don’t know if this can win Eurovision because the competition will be tough and you never know with France. They haven’t won since 1977, But I think it’s the only song they can be proud of wherever it places in the grand final. I so want France to win for a couple of years now and I’d love to see them win with this. Nevetheless, I’d say it can reach the top 10 in May.

Seemone should win for a few reasons. Her song, while simple, is very memorable and impactful. She puts a lot of emotion into her performance, and while people have compared her to Blanche recently, she isn’t stiff or timid on stage. Seemone has an authenticity to her performance, and her voice has this unique quality that adds to it all. Roi feels very authentic to Bilal as well, don’t get me wrong, but in my opinion, he is putting the song into himself, whereas Seemone is putting herself into the song. I still expect Bilal will probably win, but if… Read more »

I’ve heard both Bilal’s and Seemone’s song twice: once in the studio version, once live. I can’t remember a single word or a single note from Bilal’s song, whereas Tous les deux has stuck with me. It’s just the better song and the better singer. The only reason for Bilal to win would be him as person, but that’s not what this competition is about.

I actually liked The Divaz. They should change their costumes, but they can sing and have a good song. There are participants who have just one of these. Like Bilal, I love his song and the message, but his voice is not strong enough and I think he is too young for this song. He just seems to be below his song. To win ESC it depends on the year. Jamala was about “hate Russia” year, Netta was about “me too” year. We never know. France can win with an non-political song.

I don’t think that’s really true? Those things helped Jamala and Netta for sure, but I don’t think they’re the main reason they won. Both of them had very different, unique entries in their years. Netta had so much personality and Jamala was full of authenticity

Based on the semi-final results and the fan reception, I’d be very much ( but also pleasantly) surprised if someone else than Seemone or Bilal wins. But honestly, I don’t get why their songs are so popular. Roi is nothing special, it’s quite bland and Bilal’s voice isn’t great. The message is great of course, but the message is only part of the song. Tous les deux is even worse. Although I love Seemone’s voice, I don’t like the song at all.
