Tonight the grand final of France’s Destination Eurovision will take place. There the eight competing acts will perform their entries and face the vote from both an international jury and the public televote.

As tweeted by the official Eurovision France account, you can watch the show live via the following links.

But ahead of the show, what do you think? Earlier we asked wiwibloggs readers who they wanted to win the final of this year’s French national selection.

While eight acts will perform tonight, only one can represent France in Tel Aviv. The poll results are now in.

Your favourite act is  Bilal Hassani with his track Roi. With a total of 4,848 votes and 54,89% respectively, you’ve put him in the top spot with a big margin!

Coming next in second place is Seemone. Her emotional cut “Tous les deux” won the second semi-final and reached 1,699 votes or 19,23%.

And in third place is Chimène Badi. The experienced singer’s entry “Là-haut” is indeed reaching the heights of the poll ranking as 605 votes and 6,85% put her in third place.

Following up in fourth position are The Divaz. Their song “La voix d’Aretha” reached 531 votes or 6,01%. Emmanuel Moire‘s “La promesse” comes sixth as he accumulated 388 votes and 4.39% respectively. Closing up are Aysat with 4,20%, Silvàn Areg with 3,34% and finally Doutson‘s “Sois un bon fils” at 1,09%.

Who should win the grand final of Destination Eurovision?

  1. Bilal Hassani – “Roi” 54.89% (4,848 votes)
  2. Seemone – “Tous les deux” 19.23% (1,699 votes)
  3. Chimène Badi – “Là-haut” 6.85% (605 votes)
  4. The Divaz – “La voix d’Aretha” 6.01% (637 votes)
  5. Emmanuel Moire – “La promesse” 4.39% (388 votes)
  6. Aysat – “Comme une grande” 4.20% (371 votes)
  7. Silvàn Areg – “Allez leur dire” 3.34% (295 votes)
  8. Doutson – “Sois un bon fils” 1.09% (96 votes)

What do you think? Will Bilal Hassani win the final show tonight? Who would you like to see represent France in Tel Aviv? Share your thoughts below!

My heart was beating so much. I wanted Seemone to win because she 100% deserved it (Russia gave her 0): Bilal…… it had storytelling but *Sheesh* those vocals. Also the curse of the X Factor confetti (as Sebastian says) continues. Only use confetti when it’s a winner. Last week Noémie used it, came last. Tonight Doutson used it, came last. I love how evryone had the same staging as last time but made slight tweeks to it. But I feel terrible for Seemone.

Damn, if this is how powerful the vote of a fanbase can be, then I suggest that the most famous youtubers of each european country apply for their selection show (assuming the point spread is 50/50 televote and jury).

Falling asleep to music means you don’t take the time or the curiosity to actually LISTEN to it … a very important skill not everyone is willing to craft these days when it comes to this game … it takes too much time some say … either due to some hyperactivity problem or because Eurovision has itself stereotyped so deeply in the idea that the music is not about listening and feeling but lights, dancing, fireworks, all the visual aids that allows us all to pretend we’re all “eternally 12” when in fact we’re already 48 or more. I guess… Read more »

Same, La Venda is actually catchy (and has a uniquely ‘spanish’ feel to it)! Albania has an amazing singer and hauntingly beautiful song. And again, I don’t hate Bilal’s song. It’s not bad but I really don’t feel like its anything objectively special.

Russia gave 2 points to Bilal. Well, let’s think about that, because it cannot be based on his vocals alone as Spain gave 10 and Germany 6… XD So THAT is the FIRST reason why I am happy for Bilal at the moment – seeing Russia 🙂

Absolutely right. He underperformed with juries and they only out of 8 songs just imagine how low he will score with more than 20 other songs. France should prepare for a low score. If they do bad I’m positive internal selection will be how France chooses next year

It was the other way around in DE2018. MM was third among the jurors but Lisandro Cuxi had a comfortable lead by 22 points from MM. However, Emmy Lyana wasn’t too far behind with 8 points behind Lisandro. So it was a question of who between those 2 got the biggest share of the televote pie.

Turns out it was neither. 🙂

8. Aysat. This was a huge improvement from the Semi. I really like this artist anyhow (even before this process), and I hope she goes on to do great things. The song is a bit too repetitive in the Choruses to win this, but I wish her the best.
Ooo, it’s over now. Time to do the rankings.

7. Well I’m calling it. I think Bilal has won the final after that performance. I actually FELT that. I still find it ironic that a French kid would dream of being a king (because of the French Republic and its history), but that’s more a question for Madame Monsieur than for Bilal. Bilal sang well tonight. Watch the votes pour in, if you can cope. 😛

Sabrina

Reply to  Purple Mask

I guess he’ll probably win, but I feel the new staging will make it even more divisive. How much people can relate to Bilal and his personal journey? I believe France can have the same problem Spain had last year, by picking an entry that needs some previous emotional attachment to work properly. That said, I still think he connects well with the camera and he can improve his vocals, since his tone is pleasant and the song itself is not very challenging.

James

Bilal cracked his voice but was able to recover well enough to hide them. Although I’m not sure if jurors are gonna go past that if they noticed it right away.

6. Seemone. Hmmm. For me, the emotional impact of the semi final performance did not carry over to the final. Even so, this chanson is haunting, and on its own deserves to win the competition. It might not win though, after that performance. Seemone fans be prepared – the door is “open” for Bilal.

Sabrina

Still my favorite, even if the performance in the semi was much better. I felt that she was too worried about not getting very emotional, but getting very emotional is a strenght when you have a entry like this.

5. This song is probably the most likely to actually be in the charts right now. However, my issues with it are again choreographic (too literal), and the fact that his backing singer is obviously giving a lot of vocal support but is hiding at the edge of the stage. Plenty to clean up, but also plenty to be proud of.
