We’re all excited that Finland is set to announce their Eurovision 2019 act for Tel Aviv on January 29. But ahead of that we’ve been keeping ourselves busy by cheering for Saara Aalto as she entered the fourth week of Dancing on Ice. Her journey almost came to an end as she found herself in the dreaded skate-off. But amen, hall-a-loooh, she survived.

She’s had a rather busy time of late. While training for Sunday night’s show, she also filmed her latest music video. And her skating partner Hamish Gaman agreed to make an appearance. With Dancing on Ice up for the Talent Show award at the National Television Awards, Saara also got glammed up and hit the red carpet. You’ll have to forgive her if she was slightly off her A-game this week.

As part of this week’s Judges’ Challenge, the celebrities had to perform three specialist spins back-to-back. And after her third performance of the series, Saara continued to impress the Ice Panel. Jason gave a 6.5, Ashley gave a 6, Jayne gave a 7 and Christopher awarded her a 7.5.

Despite finishing fourth on the night, Saara found herself in the skate-off with former Grease star Didi Conn following the public vote. Fortunately after both skate-off performances, Jason, Ashley and Jayne chose to save Saara. Christopher — with the casting vote in the event of a tie — would’ve made it a clean sweep.
