The songs cross genres, hopping from ballads to pop to rock. If you’re ready to turn up the volume and take it all in, click here to hear it all.

EMA 2019
Reverting back to the 2016 format, all 10 finalists perform their entries on the night hosted by Ajda Smrekar. A three-member jury panel will be involved on deciding which two songs will advance to the superfinal. Then the two superfinalists perform their entries again before the Slovenian public choose their EMA 2019 winner.
With the final itself not until 16 February, the Slovenian broadcaster are counting down to the big day with webcasts of the EMA 2019 finalists every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, which is available on their official YouTube channel.

Kim and Ula are best!!!!
Sebi!
I am not a huge fan of any selected songs, it is quite a weak selection. Sebi sounds amazing but I doubt it will make enough impact on stage. As I first listened to the snippets Kim was my favourite but KAOS has grown on me and I can see Raiven deliverring an amazing performance. I expected more from Lumberjack because I like other songs of them but they sound good live so I’m sure they will do alright on EMA.
1) Raiven: Staging must be on point bit this can look so awesome and so far i love the sound 2) Inmate: Why not? Rock is underrated in Eurovision but it sounds great 3) Fed Horses: it s very touching 4) Kim: She needs a great staging or it ll be boring 5) Rene: Could be good if the song has developement 6) Zala: Love her sound but nothing that works in ESC 7) Ula: Can be a very good swing song, bit also a cheesy JESC performance 8) Lumberjack: It gets lost in the field 9) Renata: typical ESC… Read more »
BUT imagine Raiven with that song on ESC stage – it would slay – top 10 potential. I also really like KIM, she would make it into top 20, if the performance is good. I love Zala as well, but I think the song is not very Eurovision friendly.
Will we get to hear the full versions before the final?
Unfortunately no, RTVSLO always releases snippets only prior to the show and it probably won’t be any different this year.
It has been mentioned on the website that we will be able to hear all the songs on Val 202 (one of the national radio stations) before the live show. I can only assume this means the songs will be released in full length before EMA.
Songs are on youtube channel of Val 202 (but just half)
i like all of them except Ula (electro swing is so 2012)… favorites: Ne poveš, Metulji plešejo, Sebi, and Kaos. Sebi is massively underrated!!!!
Dubstep is dated but Kaos sounds like a huge bop
Zala 1
kim 2
reneta 3
Ula 4
Rene 5
Raivan 6
inmate 7
okusticni 8
fed horses 9
lumberjack 10
yes last, they sound like a garage bank version of green day from 2004, and 2004 was a terrible time
I love the diversity here. My favorites are definitely Kim (love the song but not as much as her voice), Zala & Gasper (but I don’t see them winning the selection unfortunately) and Ula. Some people might find her entry outdated to me it is really fresh in a weird way, it put a smile on my face, and I kept coming back for her snippet. In any case, well done Slovenia, I think it’s a really good selection!
Renata and Three Bridges is my favourite but it doesn’t stand a chance of making it to the final two. And Raiven ………just NO !! And before I start getting hate mail that’s just my personal opinion and I’m not out to upset the legions of Raiven fans ?
Lumberjack and Ula are my personal favorites. Dont know what to think about Raiven. It’s a trap song. It can be amazing but also difficult to be liked by mainstream audience. Wait and see the live performances
KIM – “Rhythm Back to You” … is the best !
Good luck DEŽELA !
Wow Wow Wow new modern Raiven?queen return Tel Aviv coming soon?
1. Zala Kralj & Gašper Šantl – adventurous and I really like it, but suspect it would be eaten alive in Tel Aviv (it gives me Claudia Pascoal vibes, actually)
2. KIM – like it, but I’m getting overwhelmed by all the interchangeable bangers in the NF…
3. Lumberjack – has a “Jimmy Eat World” vibe
4. Renata Mohori? – pretty chorus, dull verse
5. Fed Horses – pretty but a little snoozy
I don’t understand the love for Ula – it’s so old-fashioned!
Kim sounds a bit like Christina Aguilera. Which is a good thing.
I think Ula or Kim will win. The jury will send either Ula or Kim to the final along with Raiven. But Raiven will surely not survive the televote with this crazy, radical song. So Ula has big potential now, I hope she wins! The song is fun. The best are of course Zala and Gasper, but they are not even close to reaching the final televote. Really, really disappointed with Raiven to be honest.
1. RAIVENNNN
2. Kim
3. Ula Lozar
4. Zala Kralj & Gasper Santl
5. INMATE
6. René
7. Renata Mohoric
8. Fed Horses
9. Okusticni
10. LUMBERJACK
Ula has perfect entry 🙂
Her song is very “inspired” by “Moscow”, a 70’s song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvS351QKFV4
For me the chorus is the same.
Love the production of René – “Ne poveš”.
BTW, as much as I liked ‘Hvala, Ne!’, I still listen to “Ne zapusti me zdaj” on a weekly basis.
That did not sound good for Slovenia.. they might do ok with Kim but feels like they are going back to non qualification again. What a shame..
You know what’s a shame?….. you being dumb as f*** you just say that couse it’s Slovenia but in the end we always get a good entry… so you can just go and try to write your stupid comments somewhere else…… thank you!!
Have you seen my other comments? I have complained about Spain and France choosing bad entries.. I am not just saying that cause it is Slovenia lol
Raiven’s is definatly out there haha
Top 3 for me are probably , Raiven , Inmate and Kim
I still don’t get why RTV keeps changing the format of EMA.
Two years of a big selection but with weirdly weighted voting only to switch back to that small studio with the 3 person jury picking 2 finalist.
God, Raiven really went off the rails this year. No thanks. Kim is the only one who I will stream, a couple of the male acts were ok…overall a mediocre selection. Kind of expected more!
I’m liking Zala and Gašpar the best, definitely the kind of music that I’m into. Raiven sounds very disappointing.
Only INMATE, Zala Kralj & Gašper Šantl and Raiven have made an impact on me. I would go for Raiven, but I have to hear more of them in order to give a definitive opinion.
Unpopular opinion: This is my most favourite Raiven song (based off of the snippet) I think it sounds so amazing, I also like the song by inmate which I didn’t think I’d like and I also love the song sebi
Raiven – 30 seconds very powerful, like Iveta and Aminata! With this performance she can use many things like smoke, lights, video shots, body movements! Here I see potential for a complete package.
Raiven will never win the televote in Slovenia with that song. The SLO people vote for “normal” songs like BQL, Omar Naber. Last year Lea Sirk was third for instance. The winner will be whoever is in the final with Raiven, I’m guessing Ula or Kim.
So Slovenian people never will win Eurovision, there were only 2 years, when natural high art music won 2016 and 2017, expect this two years we have got EuroTRASHvision with winners like Netta. I think that Raiven is modern high art with a great potential to win in this very weak year, so far only she or MARUV could be the singers, who will save this year horrible competition.
Can’t say much about the snippets, but I appreciate the diversity of this lineup. We won’t get to know Dora’s entries before the big night, right? So it will be tough to decide what to watch, but Slovenia got me interested.
I wanna watch both. Sometimes a Eurovision follower needs to multitask.
Well, I can definitely multitask, my notebook and my Internet connection not so much. 🙁
Oh my, I know that problem. I’m cool and calm in almost all of life’s situations but live streams and internet connections still manage to make me mental.
Yep, that’s true. No snippets from Dora 🙁 It’s really tough I also don’t know what to watch but since I’m Croatian it gotta be Dora xD But it’s also getting us hyped to hear the songs for the first time, I’ll watch Dora until Raiven performs and then switch to Dora again. And watch the results of both.
Amorero brutalero promises to be masterpiece, I can feel it. 😛
In a situation like this one, I’ll probably let the best streaming win haha Maybe I’ll watch Dora because I know I’ll be able to catch EMA’s videos quickly on Youtube, like I did last year.
Very promissing snippets ! The only ones I didn’t like are those from Renata, René and Fed Horses. The others are very good and promissing (especially the ones from KIM, Ula and Okusti?ni) 🙂
Slovenia will slay this year 😀
Zala&Gašper and Raiven are the most interesting snippets for me for now. Lets talk again when the 3:00 versions are out
I think Ula is a clear winner altough her lack of experience can get the best of her. I know she was already on JESC but altough that song was nice she sounder very pitchy.. Kim is good and that other duet is good too. Raiven wtf
I don’t follow Lithuania’s NF but Slovenia sure has a very questionable, long history with their jury voting.
oops, that was meant as a response to a comment further down
I might be the odd but I don’t like Raiven and Kim. That dubstep is messy and Kim’s song is so generic.
They have a few better options imo based on the snippets.
Also, I personally like number 8 and 9, but I don’t really instantly dislike any of the songs. One of the more interesting selections so far 🙂
I like Zala Kralj & Gašper Šantl’s song vibe, and Ula Lozar’s “Fridays”, because it’s so different from the others. On the other hand I’m not really digging Raiven’s song – to me it sounds more like a music used in sf movie trailer, but maybe I’ll change my mind after listening to the full versions.
That’s Ula from junior eurovision 2014 right?? She was one of my absolute favourites back then! I still absolutely love that song…
Yep, the very same Ula Ložar with “Nisi Sam”.
I like the diversity of sounds, but like Mr. Vanilla Bean said “nothing sounds too bad, or too promising here”.
I didn’t like Raiven’s snippet. I hope she doesn’t win if her song turns out to be bland. She should go to ESC as a qualifier.
This three member-jury, though… They might as well replace it with the tv station’s boss.
Lithuania have also used a three-member jury panel so far after three heats of Eurovizijos atranka, so Slovenia aren’t the only one.
Kim, Ula, INMATE, and Raiven are potential. The others are… not as interesting, if not boring.
Wow Kim! The best
Nothing sounds too bad, or too promising here. The running order looks like they want Raiven to win. From the snippets, I like Ula the most, but the snippets don’t mean anything, really. Not digging Raiven so far, i gotta say. But who knows what the entire song will be like. I will watch this national final, it’s interesting enough for me.
I think it is going to be an amazing final very strong selection looking forward to it and hearing all the songs when full versions are out : )
