Mikolas Josef has caused quite a stir in recent months. His first single post-Eurovision was released in October. That was “Me Gusta“, which would go on to win the 2018 OGAE Video Contest. It also clocked in at #2 in Team Wiwi’s Top Tracks of 2018. Mikolas is following up that success with the release of his new single “Abu Dhabi”, as well as the accompanying music video.

“Abu Dhabi” is about going somewhere exotic for the night and living the high life. In the chorus, Mikolas asks his lover to “pick somewhere exotic, baby we’ll be there tonight”. She chooses the capital of the United Arab Emirates, leading into a signature pop drop tinged with Middle Eastern elements. You can practically taste the baklava in those bars!
Mikolas is looking sharp as usual. Extravagantly dressed with a number of high fashion looks, the Czech dynamo works the choreography to great effect. He is also sporting a platinum blond hairdo and some signature eyewear — something Eurovision fans will know all about. The man knows how to dress and moves with an undeniable swagger, showcasing his unquestionable charisma.
In addition to his incredible wardrobe choices, Mikolas brings some great dance moves. Flanked by his four boys, they look like a group of men on a mission and Abu Dhabi doesn’t know what’s about to hit it.

This is good quality, although the instrumental needed much more of a drop, but overall it’s well-produced and catchy. I really hope there’s longevity in his career, it looks like there might be.
Parts of it definitely remind me of Lie to Me but only in the best way. Very talented guy.

Another great track from Mikolas. He even directs the music videos. If he was American he’d have a much better shot at getting the acclaim he deserves. Anyhow, their loss, he’s achieved so much regardless – continued success!
