She just sang “Not With Me” during the first semifinal of Melodifestivalen 2019. But the truth of the matter is that Sweden was very much with Wiktoria on Saturday evening as the fan favorite qualified directly to the final. She now has at least a one in a twelve chance of representing Sweden at Eurovision in May.

After toweling off from her encore, Wiktoria caught up with our very own Kevin. She’s now three-for-three when it comes to qualifying directly to the final. And it was clear the blonde bombshell was at once relieved and excited.

Wiktoria’s plan for the big final in March 9 is fairly simple. “I’m gonna work out, stay at the gym and just rehearse a lot. Stay calm and be with my friends and family.”

Even though it’s her third time in the final in four years, she says this time is something new. “It’s totally different, which is weird. I’m just so much more calm this year. I’m so in love with this song and this number, and so happy with every team member that worked together with me on this.”

Wiktoria also says that she enjoys the coincidental similarities others have spotted with Eric Saade’s first Melfest attempt back in 2010 with “Manboy”.

Like many artists before her, such as Ruth Lorenzo and Jedward, belting out those incredible notes while wet or being poured with water is no easy feat. But the “Not With Me” singer brushes it off as part of the job. “I’m just pouring my heart out. That’s what the song’s about. When I sing, I’m ignoring everything that’s happening around me.”

Wiktoria qualified for the grand final of Melodifestivalen alongside Mohombi and his song “Hello”. The semi-was so competitive that last year’s televote winner Nano and past winner Anna Bergendahl will have to try their best at “Andra Chansen”.

What do you think? Will this prove to be ‘third time’s a charm’ for Wiktoria? Let us know in the comments below!

Great performance indeed. Diva-like. However, there is room for improvement vocally for it to be perfect. But she could nail it.

Wiktoria for the win in Sweden! If she gets disqualified it’ll be a major crime. It’s out of her control.

The best water performance is the Polish girls from 2014. They had water and did the laundry too. Do that Wiktoria if you can. Ruth Lorenzo was denied water that year. Polish girls had whatever Polish girls wanted.

She’s doing something new for ESC, the only other thing missing is someone floating for the entire performance à la P!nk. Let the good sis live.

How does the mic pack work with all the streaming water? I remember Eric Saade and Jedward only got wet at the end, after they had stopped singing. The backing vocalists took over then.

Bring that staging to Tel Aviv and become the joke of Eurovision…

I hope the winner is yet to come in Sweden, although Wiktoria would be a safe choice as well. At Eurovision, I think she might struggle a bit with the public vote, but it’s a very jury-friendly song. Probably another Top 10 to them, or at least very close to that.

Wiktoria’s song feels like a mashup of Beyonce – Listen and Isa – I Will Wait. the samples feel too overused

Remind me too much to I will wait. Isa sadly was ROBBED. And now Wiktoria, direct till final. I love her, but come on, the song is a bit boring. And the rain… nothing new.

I wish to see a possible other way of staging for the next round. Like they do in Destination Eurovision. Bilal, f.ex., had a different staging and different clothes in the final compared to his semi-final.
And in Tel Aviv they can choose the one, which we fans liked more. Or a completely different.

I feel like the AC acts may try to change up their staging for AC. Especially Anna, I feel like some kind of change could help rather than hurt her chances.

For a surprise, she needs a dress that changes colors when rained on. That would put this song over the top. Google “Sean Elliott Project Runway Rainway Dress”. The colors she chooses would be ones to enhance the song.

I loved her performance! Depending on how others perform I might like to see her go to Eurovision.

Without rainfall, her song would be boring ballad, with good chance to be 5th in semi. For me worst song that she have in MF. Save me is her best song she have till now. After semi Ana drop so hard on betting odds, same Nano drop few placeses..Wiktoria jump few places, and Mohombi jump on 2nd places. First is Jon Henrick .Duett from second semi drop to 3rd place, in some period they was first.
