Eesti Laul 2019 started less than a week ago.

And now we have the lineup for the final. Twenty-four have became twelve.

All eyes are on the Saku Suurhall in Tallinn, where on February 16 Estonian televoters and an international jury will pick Estonia’s act for Eurovision 2019.

Pyros will fare, spotlights will shine and by the end of the night we’ll have an heir for Elina Nechayeva.

But before they have their say, we want to hear yours.

Perhaps you want Victor Crone to emerge victorious? Or maybe you’re a “Milline päev” stan? Or could it be that it’s Uku Suviste you’ve had your eye on all along?

Whoever you like, we want to hear about it, and hear about it now. So we’ve opened our poll for who you want to win the final of Eesti Laul 2019. You can vote for as many of the twelve finalists as you like, but make it count, as you can only vote once. We’ll reveal results shortly before the final on February 16.

Who should win the final of Eesti Laul 2019?

Inger – “Coming Home”

Kadiah – “Believe”

Kerli Kivilaan – “Cold Love”

Lumevärv feat. INGA – “Milline päev”

Sandra Nurmsalu – “Soovide puu”

Sissi – “Strong”

Stefan – “Without You”

Sünne Valtri – “I’ll Do It My Way”

The Swingers, Tanja & Birgit – “High Heels in the Neighbourhood”

Uku Suviste – “Pretty Little Liar”

Victor Crone – “Storm”

xtra basic & Emily J – “Hold Me Close”

[polldaddy poll=10230312]

The final of Eesti Laul 2019 will air live on ERR. All acts will perform again, with the winner chosen from a three song superfinal.

Elina Nechayeva won last year’s competition in a landslide, sweeping both the international jury and the televote. She went on to place 8th in the Grand Final. Estonia had spent the two previous years in the semis.

Sandra must win the competition !

Thunder and lighting it is getting exciting

I dont get what people like in the storm song ,? Its just a usual generic song from stig rasta that he is a master in plagiarism

“Master in plaigiarism” – so was George Frideric Handel, but it didn’t stop him being considered a master for hundreds of years. Sometimes it is about how you use the music, not about pure creativity. “Storm” has instantly cheerful Verses and an anthemic Chorus melody that makes me think of thousands of people singing along with it. It might not be original, but it is a great melody arrangement. There are some good cross-rhythms too.

Synne, of course. “I’ll do it my way” is so totally my kind of cheddar cheese. 😛
More seriously… Victor Crone has the winning song, but not the winner’s charisma or the perfect vocals (yet).
Arguably the best performers are Sandra and Stefan. Uku Suviste is good too, but is missing a “sexy” vibe. And everyone else is actually rather good. So it is an open field. Pretty much the best one on the night can win; what great fun.

Stefan, Uku and Victor are the usual picks for the superfinal since Stefan=Vaje, Uku=fan favorite, Victor=Stig+Swedish. Yet I think three other candidates can be a dark horse: Sandra, Kadiah, or The Swingers.

Yes THIS! The Swingers are the real dark horse of Eesti Laul this year. Watch them be Top 3!

What I want:

1. Stefan – “Without You”
2. Inger – “Coming Home”
3. Kadiah – “Believe”
4. Victor Crone – “Storm”
5. Uku Suviste – “Pretty Little Liar”
6. xtra basic & Emily J – “Hold Me Close”
7. Sissi – “Strong”
8-12. I don’t care

I think it’s between Uku and Victor. Who sings better on the night, wins it. Rating on songs, I would say “Storm” is better, but it doesn’t matter, if Victor can’t sing it as well as in studio track. And he can’t really mask it with backing vocals. Uku’s song is difficult, but at least he can use backing vocals in high notes. And if smart sound tehnicians get the balance and it sounds natural, he has an advantage and at the end it might make more powerful and captivating performance. “Storm” is quite predictable and more mainstream, contemporary song,… Read more »

Hmm I personally only liked Inger and Stefan. Less is more in this case. Maybe Xtra Basic and Emily if we go for a party song. But if it’s really between Uku and Victor in the end, I would prefer Victor, because Storm is a much better song.

So, my top five for this selection: 1) Uku Suviste: A beautiful male voice, a composition that flies away carrying us, and the superb choreography of the dancer, that’s a combo that kills. Go champion! 2) Sandra Nurmsalu: Very charming song, which combines both Celtic and Eastern accents, served by a beautiful voice while tenderness. Absolutely adorable. 3) Sissi: (It’s not me! :D) A deep, warm and soulful voice. And effective choruses. That’s going to make sparks. 4) Lumevarv feat Inga: The music hangs on the ear. It’s very “90s party” in the idea but at least something interesting happens… Read more »

me. what? I have better chances to qualify than all of those acts combined.

Ok, ok. Let’s say Uku or Sandra, because I just can’t stand Victor’s screechy voice.

I just hope that Sandra can improve her staging by adding at least something. It’s boring that she is so lost and lonely and the hologram of the tree isn’t enough, sorry. I really want her to have an amazing staging, cause her song has something magical, when you hear it for the first time

Adding smokes on floors might help, especially when it goes a little overboard and creates a mystical atmosphere.

As someone who has had to perform with smoke in the past, let me say: It’s more difficult than it looks!

I would like to point out that if the favourite of this year’s Eesti Laul, Victor Crone, will be picked to represent Estonia this year, it would be the first time since 2006 that a Non-Estonian represents Estonia in Eurovision, as Crone is from Sweden. Back in 2002, when the contest was hosted in Tallinn, Sahlene, who is from Sweden, represented Estonia as well. I personally don’t really like non-local artists to represent a country at the ESC, and honestly, I believe that there are Estonians who can perform “Storm” better. As the first semi of Eesti Laul showed, Victor… Read more »

Honestly? I have no idea. There are 8 or 9 entries in the same level. None of them particularly excites me, none of them particularly disgusts me. In that case, I would go with the best perfomer. In the semifinals, Stefan, Sandra and Sissi were the ones I felt better about, but I’m hoping to be surprised by somebody else.

I honestly don’t know. I have kind of written off Estonia 2019 at this point, for me personally. Sandra was the only one that stood out to me but I kind of grew tired of the song and the performance where she did not move at all was a real let-down. The cutie face Marko is out and as much as I like both Birgit and Tanja, I don’t think winning with that song would do them any favors. For me, their song would work better as an instrumental, the singing is so rushed and gives me nothing. I honestly… Read more »

Well, everyone says its between Victor Uku and Stefan so I guess Estonia will flop hard this year. They better hope their semi final will be filled with weak entries so they stand a chance because none are worthy of qualifying.
