Hungary’s national final A Dal is well underway. Eighteen acts have qualified from the three initial heats and they will go on to battle it out in the semi-finals. The first semi is due to take place this Saturday, but who should qualify for the grand final?

Have your say in our Wiwi Poll. Listen to the nine competing acts in the first semi-final then vote for your favourites. As always, you can vote for as many acts as you like, but you can only vote once — so make it count.

Acoustic Planet – “Nyári Zápor”

The group coming from the world of busking have done really well with both juries and the public, scoring 43 points in the second heat, which awarded them the second spot.

DENIZ – “Ide Várnak Vissza”

The popular rapper and his band weren’t a hit with the juries, but the public gave them a second chance in the first heat.

Konyha – “Százszor Visszajátszott”

The alternative band has turned juries and televoters on, as their 38 points have secured a fourth place qualification from the first heat.

Petruska – “Help Me Out Of Here”

The returning 2016 superfinalist scored 40 points and reached the joint second spot in the third heat.

The Middletonz – “Roses”

2014 Eurovision star András Kállay-Saunders and Slashkovic have delivered quality, and with their 41 points, have fared to the semis from the second heat’s third spot.

The Sign – “Ő”

The Miskolc-based group has just managed to reach the fifth spot in the second heat with 38 points.

USNK – “Posztolj”

The X-Factor winning rap duo hailing from Cluj (Transylvania, Romania) may not have been a jury favorite, but the public has pushed them through to the next round from the third heat.

Bence Vavra – “Szótlanság”

The returning artist (formerly known as Ceasefire X) has gained 39 points in the second heat.

Yesyes – “Incomplete”

Last year’s runner-up wasn’t received that well by juries in the second heat, however the public showed them their support and sent them through to the semifinals.

Who should qualify from the first semifinal of A Dal?

I kind of want Konyha to go to Tel Aviv, I would love to see how everybody struggles pronouncing ‘Százszor visszajátszott” ? others are The Middletonz, yesyes, Deniz.

ok so my top for this semi: 1) Petruska: Since the beginning I LOVE his humor and his song very original. And he shine a lot of charisma and sun on stage too. It’s a summer hit! 2)Acoustic Planet: A very cute song, with a lot of softness. I like her voice with a lot of tenderness. The music is excellent, I like the way they use percussion. 3) Yesyes: A strong and beautiful male voice who takes us on his journey. And the song exudes a “mysterious” atmosphere that can please too. 4) Konyha: Simple and efficient. We feel… Read more »

My quaifiers:

1. Yesyes – “Incomplete”
2. Konyha – “Százszor Visszajátszott”
3. The Middletonz – “Roses”
4. The Sign – “?”

By looking at the previous heats, I’m afraid only The Middletonz and maybe Konyha will make it. Yesyes could qualify thanks to the public vote round.

As a hungarian really intresting to read a lot of comments (not just here, everywhere) about yesyes is overrated and Deniz is so underrated. Maybe by foreign fans, but actually Deniz is an overhyped artist in Hungary and yesyes is the underrated one. Just saying…

Lmao, this jury is the most ridiculous collection of people ever. It’s very clear what they’re trying to do with these semi allocations and now we will definitly lose yesyes and Deniz. It’s a shame.

Unfortunatelly I’m almost sure we will lose yesyes this weekend. The jury don’t like them, and the public will save USNK for sure… Maybe it’s the end of Vavra Bence too, who is one of my favorites too. 🙁 But I hope my winner perfomance: Roses will be in the final, and after that in the super-final, so I can vote for it.

yesyes are overrated by fans.
There are 3 songs I like in this semi – The Middletonz, Acoustic Planet and The Sign (who are terribly underrated)

Putting all the televoting qualifiers in the same semi is a tactic for at least two of them to get eliminated. So, Yesyes, Deniz and USNK will have to go head to head in the new televoting round. Juries will probably qualify Acoustic Planet, Konyha and The Middletonez.

Who SHOULD qualify?
1. Middletonz. 2. Yesyes. 3. Bence. 4. Petruska/Deniz

Those judges are going to do something random though.

4 songs will qualify: the top 3 will advance based on the average of the 4 Jury vote + televote. After the top 3 qualifiers are revealed the public can vote for a fourth song (from the remaining 6) which will advance based on televote only.

I’d say DENIZ, but the jury will probably eliminate him in this round.
