They say it takes two to tango.

But on Saturday night, seven acts will share the stage in Malmö, during Deltävling 2 of Melodifestivalen 2019.

“Sing For Love” hitmaker and Melfest veteran Andreas Johnson has the honour of opening the show.

Newcomer Malou Prytz sings second and Oscar Enestad is on third. Their songs are “I Do Me” and “I Love It”.

They’re followed by Jan Malmsjö. He is a decorated Swedish actor and voiced Lumiere in the Swedish dub of Beauty & The Beast.

He’s followed by vlogger Vlad Reiser, who describes his song “Nakna i regnet”, as a “modern love song”.

Idol alumni Hannah Ferm & LIAMOO sing sixth and “Cool Me Down” megastar Margaret will close the show with her track “Tempo”.

As discussed last week we won’t hear the songs in full until the live semi-final on Saturday night.

However, SVT has released 1-minute snippets of the songs, which are available to listen to now on SVT Play.

MELODIFESTIVALEN 2019 SEMI-FINAL 2 SNIPPETS

  1. Andreas Johsnon – “Army Of Us”
  2. Malou Prytz – “I Do Me”
  3. Oscar Enestad – “I Love It”
  4. Jan Malmsjö – “Leva Livet”
  5. Vlad Reiser – “Nakna i regnet”
  6. Hannah Ferm & LIAMOO – “Hold You”
  7. Margaret – “Tempo”

Clips from rehearsals will be released later tonight through SVT Play.

Last week, early response to snippets suggested that Nano and Anna Bergendahl would advance direkt til final.

In the event, they both ended up at Andra Chansen and will now duel to sing again in Stockholm.

Instead Wiktoria and Mohombi advanced to the final. Whether a change in the way the app vote works is responsible for those results remains to be seen.

Lyrics for all of Saturday night’s songs are available on the Melodifestivalen website.

What are your initial reactions? Who do you want to go direct to the final? Let us know in the comments below!

I have a really strong feeling that Jon Henrik will win Melfest and it is his song that is the best one in all semis. I CAN’T WAIT.

Malou is looking like a 1980s secretary and what in heavens does Margaret have on??!?! She looked so cool last year and now she’s wearing a giant scrunchee for a dress. Fire these stylists immediately!!!!!!

Wow, this SF is so weak is hard to make a prediction, thought it’s safe to say the winner won’t come from here. Anyway, this is what I think will happen:

FINAL
Andreas Johnson – “Army Of Us” (unoriginal, but effective)
Hannah Ferm & LIAMOO – “Hold You” (so unoriginal…)

ANDRA CHANSEN
Margaret – “Tempo”
Vlad Reiser – “Nakna i regnet” (cool, but it’s lacking something)

ELIMINATED
Oscar Enestad – “I Love It” (that chorus is a crime, disappointing)
Malou Prytz – “I Do Me” (meh)
Jan Malmsjö – “Leva Livet” (typycal swedish grandpa song, same fate as Arja)

My personal favourites after watching the clip rehearsals : DF: 1. Margaret – The song isn’t deep, it’s not revolutionary but it is a very catchy bop. And nothing wrong with that. Certainly something I’ll be playing on repeat and I think the Melo finals need at least something light hearted and fun. I’d like to see her DF. 2. Hanna & LIAMOO – Morland & Debra’s song from eurovision 2015 meets Don’t let me down by the chainsmokers. I also have mixed feelings about those plastic bag floating behind them. HOWEVER the song is catchy and they definitely have… Read more »

Anyways vote for king and queen Liamoo & Hanna Ferm and Oscar Enestad.

Eurofans i have a hardtime with . Eurofans taste is very low when you say for example UK,Latvia,Portugal, Denmark,Belarus have better songs then us this year. I can agree that we in Sweden are bad on takins risks but there is still hope:) Dont trash all 28 songs yet. 14 left that can win Mello:) The first 14 i dont think can win. Liamoo and Hanna are to safe

Read more »

Its the most stupid thing ive ever heard ,let alone great. Lyrics just give me cringe. Last year was terrible as well rip off Camilla’s Havana. It will be a crime if Tempo goes through when Mina brander was eliminated. And she was placed to perform at the end of the semifinal as if she had an awesome song which makes watching people wondering.

I gotta say this semi is weak comparing to last week, but imo oscar and liamoo will go dtf and andreas and malou to ac.

“I” is grammatically correct, but “me” is colloquial and what most people would say naturally which is why it sounds better. English has a lot of that where what you’re supposed to do doesn’t sound right and we end up defaulting to what’s wrong because it sounds better.

It’s the same thing with Frans’ ESC song. “If I were sorry” is grammatically correct but most people would default to “If I was sorry”.

(I know my name is Finnish but I’m half-Canadian and grew up bilingually)

Yeah it’s weird but it makes sense. It’s like if you’re saying, “She performed better than I [did].” The “did” is implied. You wouldn’t say, “She performed better than me did.”

“Tempo” feels like a quintessence of a radio song – and there’s nothing wrong with that. I’m not sure if it would be the best choice for Eurovision, but it’s perfect for Swedish Spotify and radio stations, and that’s all Margaret is here for.

That Margaret would be the favourite here is no surprise. I knew it before the snippets. Talk about a generic Fuego-copy! I can’t understand what is so special about it. I really can’t. And she seem so cold on stage. Both with Cool me down and In my cabana.
