They’re the sibling duo that shot the entire video for their song “Rich” whilst out at sea, floating on a surfboard. And now Switzerland’s ZiBBZ, comprised of sister and brother Coco and Stee Gfeller, have released the music video for the revamped version of “Citylights”. The original version of the song featured on their 2017 album It Takes a Village.

Last year at the Eurovision Song Contest, they gave a powerful live performance of their song “Stones”, which saw Coco hit the runway revealing her toned abs. As Europe welcomes the news that she is pregnant, much of their energetic stage and video appearances have been scaled back.

Instead, they’ve hired an actor to feature in their new music video, which is partly filmed in a car wash.

ZiBBZ – “Citylights”

Speaking exclusively to wiwibloggs, ZiBBZ tell us:

“This song is actually inspired by loneliness . A big city like Los Angeles can make one feel lonely. Coco went for a walk one evening, as she loves people watching and documenting observations. She brought the ideas to our little home studio.

The video on the other hand happened the way many of our ideas happen… Stee woke up one morning going ‘I wanna dance in a car wash’ which sounded like fun until he realised that no carwash will let people walk through it, let alone a camera team. So, that became a challenge in itself. We searched all over California for several months until we could fulfill the vision we had in mind for this project.”

So here’s a lil behind the scenes footage of our NEW MUSiCViD.. ?? #citylights this idea happened like most of our ideas do… Stee waking up one morning going ‘i wana dance in a car wash’! which sounds like fun until u realize NO carwash will let people walk through it, let alone a camera team. So after about 3 months of searching & people wondering if we were insane, we found one & even found a friend who was crazy enough to go dance in it! Thanx Adrian!! #legend The music aswell as the video is SELF PRODUCED by us and a small group of friends. As we always say.. it takes a village!! Director/DP: Simon Steuri Choreographer: @dangdangviet Cam assistant: @yvesnicollier and if you’re ever in LA, go to ‘Tommy’s express carwash’ and give them a high five for us! We hope u dig!! Coco & Stee??

The video starts with what seems like a group of friends downing drinks in a busy Koreatown bar. Coco and Stee briefly feature as they bump into the video’s protagonist on his way out.

The fun rapidly wears off when the intoxicated gentleman stumbles around the car park and vomits on someone’s dashboard.

Things pick up again when he makes his way to a deserted car wash. He undresses, and dances around the car wash without a care in the world.

Unfortunately, in the morning after the night before, we find out that the car he vomited on actually belongs to ZiBBZ themselves. Will he own up to what he’s done? Watch the video to find out!

ZiBBZ – “Citylights” (lyrics)

can i have what ur drinkin
tell me everything ur thinking / go on tell
u might have what im missing / u got
maybe love maybe luck maybe im just trippin on
all the rum and all the flicker flicker flicker – fools /liquor, sicker,
yeah they promise it gets better better better

washed up city lights
howling at the moonlight
take me to new highs
who are u? who am i?
washed up city lights
toxicated moonshine by the mile
giving me new life
who are u? who am i?

dont take me to ur place
get me lost yeah this is ur chance i, i
got a weird kinda feeling
give it all give me ur kinda healing
all the rum and all the flicker flicker fools
yeah they promise it gets better, better, better

washed up city lights
howling at the moonlight
take me to new highs
who are u? who am i?
washed up city lights
toxicated moonshine by the mile
giving me new life
who are u? who am i?

I lost count how many Eurovision alumni have had babies in the last 18 months. The contest is good for fertility as it seems.
