Tonight sees Estonia crown the winner of Eesti Laul 2019, and we discover who’ll represent the country at Eurovision 2019. It’s been a fortnight since the semi-finals, and in that time we asked you who you wanted to see win tonight’s final.
And in the end, it was so close at the top. Just five votes separated the top two in the end, with 2,377 votes cast overall. But it’s Uku Suviste who takes victory in our poll with “Pretty Little Liar”!
Uku Suviste – “Pretty Little Liar”
Uku received 525 votes, just over 22% of the grand total. Uku also won our poll for the second semi-final, and promptly made it straight through to the final on the night.
Having made his name in The Voice Russia and New Wave, is Uku going to add “Eesti Laul winner” to his credits tonight?
Perhaps his biggest competition — at least according to our poll — will be Victor Crone.
Victor Crone – “Storm”
The former Melodifestivalen star was just behind Uku in the poll, with 520 votes (just under 22%). He’s singing about a “Storm” and, with Stig Rästa behind him, could we see the Swedish star representing Estonia?
Quite some way behind, but still a respectable third place in the poll, is Sandra Nurmsalu. Ten years after being part of Urban Symphony in Moscow, does Sandra still have a shot at returning to Eurovision?
“Soovide puu” received just under 14% of the overall vote in the poll, with 329 votes.

Is Uku or Victor your favourite for Eesti Laul 2019? Do you think that another act can take victory tonight? Let us know all your thoughts down below in the comments!
Tienes que ensayar mucho y el oerformance es cinematográfico y creativo pero tan tan
Victor crone won XD, as I predicted!
Can they just send Karl-Erik Taukar instead?
;/
Well, Victor won. I’ll have to check his performance later to see if his vocals improved. Busy saturday, very busy saturday.
Can anyone tell me what’s the name of the male blond host?
Karl-Erik Taukar
So the Superfinal is:
Victor Crone
Stefan
Uku Suviste
Thank you to everyone else. 😀 (Sorry to Sandra fans)
Sandra was so enchanting! Fingers crossed! She or Stefan would make me so happy! As I said before, Uku and Victor are also really good. Inger has a cute song too.
A holographic tree for Sandra! Which then disintegrated. Ah well. 🙁
A beautiful song, a beautiful vocal, a beautiful outfit, but very little choreography. A missed opportunity, I feel.
Ooo – big surprise… INGER’s song got a musical re-vamp! It’s now in a different key (raised); that seems to suit the singer better, and so the performance went well. Nice twist.
Uku just smashed this performance. He was amazing, c’mon let him win.
Uku Suviste – By far the strongest male vocal of the night, that’s for sure. Incredible power of octaves. The filming reminded me of a Joel Schumacher movie… and I was expecting the golden rain at the end, of course. But, it’s all a little bit… predictable. Anyhow, a possible winner there.
And the joker in the pack has struck BIG. That would be The Swingers, Birgit & Tanya! So much energy and sass. Brilliant. 🙂
Just have to say how amazing Stefan was! I’m upping my rating to a full 9, as I am equally impressed by his and Sandra’s songs. 🙂 I’d be thrilled if he wins!
Just to say that I would love to watch Dora but HRT haven’t sent me a open stream link. Slovenia on the other hand has sent me a special 4K link – fancy! So I will probably be watching Slovenia’s final. Unless you have an international HRT1 link?
I don’t think we have an official one, but I’ll look for it. Oh well… you couldn’t watch both either way. Tell me your impressions on EMA and I promise I will vote responsibly. 🙂
Sure. EMA opinions will appear on the most recent Slovenia post (which is the readers results post, in Features at the moment)
Stefan just made me cry. He was that good.
Does this mean he could win?
More following of the script for songs 4-6.
I must admit I love Kerli’s song. But Kadiah is so lovely on camera – Kadiah had a more beautiful performance. 🙂
Xtra Basic & Emily J – It’s a really bizarrely simple concept, but Emily herself makes it work with her energy. Credit for that.
So far it’s all going to the script.
INGA (Millinie Päev) impressed me again, being all by herself.
Victor Crone – Almost perfect. Soo close to being 100%. Just the lower-range tuning to work on. That staging is WOW though, and this is definitely going to score well.
I think Victor Crone will win! Such a strong selection though so I am not 100% sure who will win.
Hope dies last they say so I’m hoping for a miracle win for Kadiah
Well if it were up to me i would choose between Stefan and Kadiah, but i dont know if any of them will stand a chance tonight
i agree
Victor’s song is way too generic and I really hope it doesn’t win
Victor has to win.
For me Stefan or Victor would be a good choice for eurovision. Also soovide puu is incredibly overrated. I personally can’t stand the song and I don’t see why so many people like it. It’s incredibly dated to me and boring. I’m sorry, I know people won’t agree with me but that song gets on my nerves. I think Uku may not fair out as well as everyone thinks he will. Its decent but quite angsty and I don’t think the eurovision jury will appreciate it and the public will be very divided on it. I think without you and… Read more »
If Soovide Puu makes it to the super final, it could win!
Hopefully it might, but that depends mostly on whether the judges are the same ones that put her under 4th spot in the semi.
My favorite is Victor with storm ?
Pour some oil cuz this selection is rusty. I’d go with Stefan tho.
I would even take The Swingers over Uku. If Estonia pick that overrated and generic entry when they have so many good songs..
Soovide puu is my personal favourite. One because it’s a stunning song and another thing is that it’s in Estonian!
Wow, that’s a close poll result. 🙂
I’ll be watching Eesti Laul of course, so do comment on here during the live show for the usual discussions. Happy Saturday.
I will be watching Dora and voting, but I am really interested in who will win in Estonia and Latvia (and to an extend, Slovenia), so I will spoil it afterwards on Wikipedia. As Melfest has a great video online, I will not be returing on Wiwibloggs not to spoil it and to watch in on a Sunday morning, oblivious of what happened. Of course, I will return to comment tomorrow. I hope it’s Sandra or Stefan, but both Victor and Uku also have good songs. Signing out for today! Have a great night and hugs 🙂
I want Soovide Puu to win, but it won’t.
Weak selection
Yes please Uku, I really don’t want Storm to win.
he has zero chances at qualifying. i dislike storm but he has a remote chance at making it at least. soovide puu remains the best.
I don’t like “Storm”. I hope Uku wins.
