Time to crash the party! Latvia’s Supernova 2019 comes to a close tonight, with the final set to determine who’ll represent the country in Tel Aviv. Back on February 5, we asked y’all who you wanted to see as the winner.
With over 1,500 votes cast, you’ve had your say. Edgars Kreilis is your pick for the winner of Supernova 2019, with “Cherry Absinthe”!
Edgars Kreilis: “Cherry Absinthe”
We’ll take a shot of that! Edgars took close to 30% of the overall vote in our poll, with 456 votes votes cast in his favour. Edgars not heads in to the final as your favourite, but he also won our Latvia Wiwi Jury.
In the semi-finals, Edgars finished in second place overall – but, unlike some of the other acts, was a steady 2nd place with both the jury and combined public vote. Could consistency be the key to a victory for him tonight?
Second place in our poll went to Supernova stalwart, Markus Riva, with his entry “You Make Me So Crazy”.
Markus Riva: “You Make Me So Crazy”
Markus was a fair bit behind Edgars in our poll, with 20% of the vote (318 votes total). But his popularity can’t be underestimated. In his semi-final, Markus won the public vote – enough to offset the fact that the jury ranked him outside their top four.
Will that be an issue for Markus tonight, or can he win the jury over? Only time will tell!
The top four in our poll is rounded out by Carousel’s “That Night” (17% of the vote) and Double Faced Eels’ “Fire” (12.5% of the vote).

Edgars by a milestone!
Predicting this year’s Supernova outcome is like reading tea leaves. Looking at the results from the semi-finals, I’d say only Dzili Violets feat. Kozmens (4th in jury vote & televote), Aivo Oskis (jury: 3rd, televote: 4th) and Markus Riva (winner of the televote, but 5th with the jury) are out of running. From the others I predict Carousel to be the winner – they’re performing last, they’re quite probable winners of the jury vote and they should do nicely with the televote (4-6 place I guess). I’m hoping Edgars can change his song back to Fire for Eurovision because Cherry Absinthe is a terrible song title/lyric. (Yes I know he most likely changed the title because there was another song called Fire but Eurovision viewers won’t be aware of that.)
I kinda like Samanta Tina her power on stage. Carousel is my 2nd winner. I also like Edgars his song, if Markus won tonight I would be okay with that too.
I dunno. I think Carousel is their only chance at the final, but what do I know? I liked Madara and she didn’t win.

Well latvia can say goodbye to the finals if that were to happen, but i woudnt be surprised by that result?
Don’t think it will win, tho. Agree, Edgars should take it, but the performances tonight will change many things, because it will not be in that small and depressive TV studio. Carousel and Samanta T?na are challengers for Tel Aviv too.
