¡La venda está cayendo! Spain’s RTVE has revealed a second snippet of the revamp of Miki’s entry for Eurovision “La venda” in which we can hear the chorus.
The energy is still there, and so are the trumpets! However, this new version sounds a little more pop and a little less brass band, which, according to RTVE, will make it feel more mainstream and appeal to a wider audience.
Nevertheless, we all know why Spain’s entry appeals to a wider audience, and that’s Miki. He’s more central to this version, with his vocals rising above the musical base.
He pops out of the big party in which the music video is set. Fun, friends and fiesta! Spain’s entry is a boost of happiness and the video reflects just that.
Also, have you noticed the choreography? “La venda” apparently has its own move now! Will it be a feature of the staging in Tel Aviv?

March 7 is the date Spanish fans have marked in their calendars. Both the music video and the revamped version of the song will be available to stream. That’s when the blindfold (‘La venda’, in Spanish) will fall completely and will reveal if Spain is a contender this year.
RTVE decided to shorten the wait. They’ve said that the music video will be available this Wednesday on RTVE.es.

This song annoys the hell out of me. It’s all over the place and that shrill voice the guy has doesn’t help.

Revamped or not, this entry still sounds like “meh” to me.

Why? Caused the have only fixed the production to make it more professional. The full version will have more changes in the verses though. The studio version differs a lot from the live one. But you can’t say they have destroyed the song just by listening to this chorus.

Judging from these 30 seconds, Spain is going from my second-to-last place to last place. This revamp is really unnecessary.
It sounds much better and professional now without being drastically changed. I can’t wait for the full version.
These are the new standards : autotune + overcompression. And people call it professional. Music is dead….
It does sound more professional whether you like it or not, whether you like the song or not. The original version sounded rough and unfinished (even if it was one of the “best” produced songs in the Spanish selection, which is not to said much tbh), this one doesn’t. You don’t need miracles to make a song sound more professional. Even with some filters like a little reverb and equalization you can make a voice sound better and smoother (not profesional though). I loved the Original Version, but I love this even more.
It now sounds much more professional and completed and not like a demo version.
Now they just need to nail the staging??

It’ll do better than Alfred and Amaia and Manel Navarro definitely. Not sure if it’ll do much better than Barei on the other hand though.
Barei was 22nd with 77 points (10 from televoting) while Alfred and Amaia were 23rd with 61 points (18 from televoting). I’d say those results are almost the same.

I think this is a breath of fresh air in between a bunch of overly-dramatic songs. It’s a song made to be sung live,.
