Earlier today he was confirmed as Switzerland’s representative for Eurovision 2019. And now we finally get to hear Luca Hänni’s song following the unveiling of the music video for “She Got Me”.
An uptempo pop banger, Luca is bringing us to the dance floor with his song for Tel Aviv. The song tells the story of his infatuation for a woman who captures his attention and then keeps it by popping and locking on the dance floor. She’s so fierce that he starts dirty dancin’. As he sings:
She let her body (talk)
She mad the party (stop)
She gettin’ naughty
Dropping and dropping it down
When she go low
When she go low
She go so low
She go so low
Oh she know oh
Oh she know
She got me dirty dancing
Luca Hänni – “She Got Me”
Luca, an accomplished dancer, brings his skills to the fore in the glossy music video. Perhaps nodding to The Greatest Showman, he spots a glamorous woman in a speak-easy style bar before literally dancing on the bar top.
The Swiss singer has fantastic eye contact with the camera. He knows what he’s got and he isn’t afraid to flaunt it! The group dance sequences are particularly impressive, showing off his ability to move in sync and en masse.
The visuals of the video — very Old World glam — contrast nicely with the Oriental, Near Eastern sounds of the song. We dare you not to dip it low after watching this.
About Luca Hänni
Luca Hänni gained popularity after he was the youngest and first non-German winner of Deutschland sucht den Superstar (aka German Idol) at 17 years old in 2012. His winning single “Don’t Think About Me” reached number one in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, and his four studio albums have all reached the top ten on the Swiss charts.
He’s not a one-trick pony though. In addition to winning Dance Dance Dance in 2017, he’s also been involved in other high-profile projects outside of singing. Last year he was a part of the German edition of Ninja Warrior.
In December 2018 he performed a sensual contemporary dance routine with Schlager-Queen Helene Fischer at her Christmas show to his song “Bei mir” (originally released in English as “Powder”). He knows how to set up a performance!
He’s also a model, designs clothes and publishes his own magazine, Stories. The boy is busy! So we’re very glad he managed to find the time to fit in an appearance at Eurovision.
This won’t be Luca’s first contact with Eurovision, as he presented the Swiss jury votes in 2017.

I don’t care that it sounds like Cyprus’ entry last year. If he can perform this song live like he does in the video, I think it will win!
Not bad!!! I actually think this sounds more like Fuego than Replay
One of the best music videos of the year! Up-tempo, great energy! Hope he brings this energy to the Eurovision stage also! Switzerland you saved the day. Great choice!
Now that’s a bop! So proud of it. Greetings from Switzerland to everyone.
Wow, what a bop!!
Switzerland will be in my top 5 for sure, great artist, despasito vibes and energetic song. Can’t get enough of it all day long.
This internally selected songs have changed my life !!!!!!
Das ist mir einen Tick zu kommerziell.
Northern Macedonia, Switzerland, San Marino is probably the best if wee see them live first before we judge them beacuse they often do mistakes.
I’m interested, but I’ll need to hear this live to form a proper opinion, the audio production on that video is… significant :p
Ah yeah, ah yeah, ah yeah!
Too many bops, predestined flops.
I was wondering, which song it reminds me!! And it seems a lot like Renaida – All the Feels from Melodifestivalen 2018!! And of course they are similar songs since the 3 of the 5 composers behind are the same
Jon Hällgren, Laurell Barker, Lukas Hällgren
Welcome back to the Grand Final Switzerland *clap clap*
He must’ve known Serhat was releasing his song on the same day, he’s wearing the same suit as Serhat did back in 2016 lol
Tbh at least we got the eye candy we needed!
Switzerland will see their first Top 10 result since 2005 (second in televoting since 2014).
If the staging is massive, it can do even better with televoters.
though I have a weakness for pop songs like these, this one just doesn’t do the trick for me. it feels a bit cheap, generic and forced, and Switzerland is trying way too hard to get the gays to vote for them. might get them to the final though!
“to get the gays”? With a straight love song ?
This song will conquer everyone.
It’s ok but there were rumours that Switzerland had a potential winning-quality song…they don’t.
Switzerland want to go to the final. One step at the time:)
Yeah, this is along the lines of I Feel Alive or Cypriot Gravity . Won’t get into my top 10, but will have it’s devoted fans for sure. Good luck to Switzerland.
Tedious, tedious, tedious!
Wow! I love it! Switzerland are back with a bang. It’s fresh, it’s current and definitely something you could hear on the radio. Gives me some despacito vibes. Welcome back to the final Switzerland! This is my new No.1 (sorry Italy)
Ok, now we know who’s going to win this year’s Eurovision Next Top Model. The song is majestic, I love it.
He looks pretty basic to be honest, nor a hot/ripped body, nor an interesting face. Think that title would fit 80% of the other males in the competition lol
Affected by last year Cyprus girl who was wild and hot on stage but this one is rahther cheesy and flashy song sorry Switzerland nothing special but good luck
It will be all about the staging, because the song is meh³.
1. Switzerland
2. Slovenia
3. Italy
It’s a fun song. But the title should have been “Dirty Dancing” IMO.
The 2019 fuego version
You guys all keep forgettin the staging factor. Not everyone is Foureira hahaha
Love the reggaetón side of it
Boiii this is a bop!! I’m excited for this, it could do realllyy well
Top 10 Thus Far:
1. Cyprus
2. United Kingdom (DANGEROUSLY UNDERRATED)
3. Switzerland
4. Norway
5, France
6. Netherlands
7, Spain
8. Portugal
9. Slovenia
10. Albania
cant stop laughing. What is dangerously underrated? the cliche song or the performer who moves his hands like a child?
The song isn’t bad it’s one of the stronger songs of the year, the UK will finish in the top ten with this and I’m sick to death of people constantly ripping on the UK when they produce something good.
Oh the UK had such a great opportunity with Sweet Lies. A shame we went for this. But if you like it, that’s great, although it is, of course, subjective.
I doubt it. It’s a male ballad, and we already have The Netherlands and potentially Russia with much stronger male ballads, Sorry, but things don’t look great for the UK this year. Bigger than Us is too safe, too harmless and too predictable, just like the past British entries in this decade.
No matter what the haters will say Michael Rice is very talented and the song is a REAL song if you know what i mean… The sound is flawless and he nails it with his amazing voice. At this contest we forgot that its about music.. 100% underated like last year and the one before. Uk gets my vote this year.
Sorry but it hasn’t been just about the music for two decades now. Thats why UK keeps falling, they don’t want to realise you need the package too
Sorry Cyprus. Switzerland has the real spiritual successor to Fuego!”
DES-PA-CI-TO …
Me? Still crying over “Arcade”, the Dutch entry. Damn, I just can’t at how good it is.
Isn’t this Fuego sung by a male?
And your problem with this is? ?
I don’t get why people compare this to Fuego but like Replay ??? Replay is so much closer to Fuego than this
I don’t like Replay at all. This is uninspired and un-original, but it’s ok to listen to. Replay, on the other hand, is meh
Replay is more Reggaeton than Fuego’s Latin groove.
The Dutch song is excellent, wow
Whatever, gotta thank the Netherlands for saving my day!!
INTERNAL SELECTIONS ARE KILLING IT THIS YEAR
For all the talk about giving the public a say in who gets to represent them (which is important, no doubt), it really has been a good showing so far for the internal selections.
The fist song this year I have winner vibes… Of course if all the elements are present for his live performance!
Omg, the Netherlands is absolutely amazing!!! It made my day!!!
I love you, we have almost exactly the same taste.
I think I have similar tastes to you guys as well. Maybe a couple gaps here and there (particularly San Marino) but mostly you guys have the opinions that line up with mine the most.
I’m loving this small group of likeminded people we’re having here 🙂
My new number one. Get your tickets to Amsterdam now, not later.
The Dutch song is freaking brilliant, TAKE ALL MY MONEY!
Fast-food music as its best
Spain >>>>>>> Switzerland
My favorite so far! Great job Switzerland! But he needs to work a bit on his english..
The 2nd semifinal opener?
Or closer. One of the two.
He is in the first half
Anyone who is saying that this is gonna win = delusion by jinkx
The fact that people still talk about Fuego (or even copy it) indicates the real winner of 2018. I have never seen a song of a previous year being mentioned so many times.
nah, you just can’t replicate the masterpiece that was Toy 😉
Greece and Switzerland have swapped entries probably…
Don’t like the song song, but I’m expecting a banger performance so he will probably qualify
