In May he’ll return to the Eurovision stage for a second shot at victory.
But before he gets to Tel Aviv, Sergey Lazarev has a tour to finish and this week The N-Tour tour arrived in Pforzheim Germany.
Ahead of the show, wiwibloggs had the opportunity to talk to him.
In the interview Sergey discusses a huge range of topics.
Among other things, the “You Are The Only One” hitmaker revealed there will be a Russian version of “Scream” and why he came back to the contest.
“I understood that probably I can do something else, do something different, show myself from a different side, sing a completely different type of music”.
Sergey Lazarev live on The N-Tour in Pforzheim
Sergey opened the show with a bang, singing his Eurovision entry from Stockholm 2016 “You Are The Only One”, dressed in an outfit seemingly borrowed from the Pope.
Each performance had its own story that Sergey told the audience with his voice and dancing skills. There was a costume change for each song. A standout costume from the night was a jacket that says “Love not war”, “Equality” and “Freedom”.
The most emotional part of the night came when Seregy sang a song for his son Nikita. This performance made the whole audience teary. The name of this worldwide tour is inspired by his child – The N (Nikita) Tour.
When he started singing his entry for this year’s Eurovision “Scream”, everyone in the audience was impressed with how he sang the song live without a single bum note! The song sounds even more magical on live performance.
Russia will perform during the second-half of the second semi-final on May 16. The running order has yet to be announced by Israeli broadcaster KAN, but will come in due course.
What do you think of the live performances? Are you excited by seeing “Scream” live on stage? Let us know in the comments below!
Hey.. my hometown is no province.. -__-
What about that touring whas previously schedulled? There is world outside Eurovision, you know, and you obviously forget that he’s big star who is most of the time on touring, this is not first time that he has concerts in Germany.
That’s right. All Russian artists tour Germany, Israel, and other countries with Russian-speaking residents (not only Russians).
I prefer more rock music and listen pop sometimes, but I must admit Sergey is a great singer,,he is friendly and a real professional of his creativity work. I like his song Scream. Powerful voice, symphonic sound, dramatic line. Scream is a story of spiritual maturation, when a person struggle with his own fears that we all have since childhood. It’s more for intellectual audience than typical Eurovision dance song YATOO 2016 and I’m really suprised when someone calls “Scream”boring and dull. Of course, tastes differ. I wish him good luck!
Maybe top 5 and I doubt. but not winner
Volga germans maybe? I don’t know how big that community is.
Why I thought he is gay? Still can not believe that he is father.
You know, gay people can have kids, too 😉
He is not married? He doesn` t have a wife?
No, according to the information he disclosed, he’s not married and does not intend to get married anytime soon. I think this all is a bit of a sensitive topic, given that he’s from Russia.
Mmm intersting!
Matija, stop trolling! He’s not married, but you can send him proposal, I’m sure he will review your application.
he lives in Russia, he cant be openly gay
why? 😀
Yeah, why? I mean, how he can openly can have a baby in Russia without wife, marriage, bla, bla, bla & can’t be gay in Russia, if he is?
He nailed the performance of Scream and showed everyone that he’s not a one trick horse and a great singer!
His performance in May will definitely be spectacular so… Another top 3 incoming
diaspora but also the fact that Germany votes in second semi so he could go there to gather some votes
He also visited Netherlands and they’re in second semi too
Hey guys get prepared for the very high possibility he will win this year. None of these other front runners can do a staging like him.
Tbh, I would be surprised if he wins, even though he would be worthy winner, because juries won’t let him win, as always. Anyway, can’t wait to see the staging and wish him all the best! 🙂
Russian diaspora.
He is a professional. I wish him good luck!
I was also surprised by that. There’s a big Russian diaspora in Germany. It might be that I guess
I really wish from my heart for Russia to NOT win. Because you ,wiwibloggs, are promoting Sergey and Russia much more than other artists and countries this year. To me this is unfair.
Agree, its one but not only reason why Russia shouldn’t win this year, i have tens, and the main one is Segey’ song itself…
Well… how many views and comments does their article about Croatia get? How many do their articles about Russia get? They have to make a living somehow…
And how many people live in Russia and how many in Croatia? This should happen every year and forever then…
People are saying it every year on so many countries ugh
First of all, they are covering all countries, some don’t have anything new happening so some countries get more articles
Also, it’s a blog, they can do whatever they want
If they want to, they can literally just cover one single country the entire season, but they’re not
Every country in the top 10 of the booking odds gets a lot of attention. That’s just how it is. People like to read stories about the favorites. Write an article about mahmood or hatari and it will probably receive more interest than an article about oto nemsadze for example.
