Amsterdam calling! Last night 28 acts acts competing in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 had a chance to flaunt what they got at Eurovision in Concert. It’s the largest event of the pre-party season and returned for its eleventh edition this year. Being the first pre-party of the season, it’s considered particularly important. It can set the tone for what’s to come and gives many of the acts a chance to perform live for a braying mob of Eurofans for the very first time.

Switzerland’s Luca Hänni gave an energetic performance with fierce dancing — and an extended reframe after he had finished. Spain’s Mika showed what a natural he is when he unleashed that “La venda” realness. San Marino’s Serhat literally had everyone saying “Na Na Na”. And the Dutch entrant Duncan Laurence closed it out with an incredible live performance that seemed to justify his position as the front-runner. And those were only some of the highlights.

The show also featured several iconic Eurovision alums, including Dana International from Israel performing “Diva”. Germany’s Eurovision winner Nicole sang her winning song “Ein bißchen Frieden”, and served her unique renditions of other Eurovision classics like “Waterloo” or “Euphoria”. Dutch queens Marlayne and Sieneke also performed their songs.

But anyway: Now we want to know who you think gave the best live performance at Eurovision in Concert 2019. Cast your votes based on the performance. You can listen to most of the acts in our playlist below (sadly our camera cut out during Hungary, so we don’t have his performance, and the lights of Belgium’s show made our camera unfocused so we only have half of it as it should look. Sorry ’bout that.)

You can vote for as many acts as you’d like, but you can only vote one time, so make it count.

Eurovision in Concert poll

[polldaddy poll=10287720]

So who did you vote for? Do you think the Netherlands’ Duncan Laurence will take it home? Or perhaps you love Mika from Spain? Or did a new act convince you that they’re a major threat to win the whole competition? Sound off in the comments below!

You can also watch interview’s with acts at the playlist below to learn more about them.

Get a life, please. Why, Albania doing well in the poll, is bothering you too much ? Albanian don’t care about Eurovision since in Eurovision politics governs, not real music as it should be. So, no one here is ruining the poll. Jonida slayed live in Amsterdam. And well deserved place in this poll. She was much better than some bookmarkers ( who know nothing about music) favourites. Good luck to Jonida.

And so what ? This year Albanian song is hundred times better than favourites, which will be many flops because of live performances. And why are so patient to analyse the polling results of Albania. It is not same as Georgia or Croatia or Switzerland, which because of fans ruining the polling got high at the beginning, after that, no-one voted for them. Voting for Albania in polls is constant with a rate. So, all of your meaningless opinion fails. Despite the fact that, majority of people like The Netherlands, Dutch people are ruining the polls everywhere, since it is… Read more »

Those saying that Katerine is not sick and it is an excuse do you really think she would say that if she knew that she won’t be able to sing neither in Madrid nor in Tel Aviv? Why would she lie if she wasn’t able to prove you all wrong? Why would she go to the pre-parties? And why would she write a song she couldn’t sing in the first place? And what about the making of video in which she nails that high note on the bridge? Did she do this accidentally? Guys, don’t be so unreasonable and just… Read more »

Pandelis, nobody cares about Eurovision in Albania, because Eurovision has never been fair towards Albania. So no-one doctors the poll, be sure. And it is funny to say that Albanian song is hyped, since it is the most underrated song in this year. Keep your vocal advices to your beloved Katerina, who was the worst live performer of the concert. Let’s hope that she is really sick, otherwise, I am sorry about Greece.

Albania is always the underdog. Last year, Eugent was not even going to qualify was like 39 or 38 with the bookmakers. But he qualified from the semi-final of death over fan faves, and placed 11th. Jonida is in the semi-final of death as well, but she will bring it in May and will be one of the contenders to take the trophy!! While I dislike the Netherlands’ song, they, Albania, Iceland, or Slovenia have the best chances to win given that they bring something completely different to the contest compared to your regular pop.

If you look at “debutants” on the list, things are looking good for Kobi and Tulia, less so for Katerine (but she’s a HUGE favorite, so she’ll recover from this), slightly upgraded for Eliot and more bleak for Paenda (because her song wasn’t a favorite to begin with and fans though that magical live would elevate it).

I was so disappointed by Greece’s performance 🙁 I wanted ‘Better Love’ to do great with all of my heart, but I kinda expected it tbh. I know everybody says she was sick and maybe it’s true and I hope she gets better. But I have watched a lot of her other live performances and covers of other songs on youtube and although she has a special voice, she doesn’t have control when it comes to high notes and her voice gets shaky. I agree with you and that Better Love is slightly more mainstream than what she normally sings. But also she has cowritten the song etc. so surely she knows her capabilities and can’t imagine she would push herself out of her comfort zone vocally as it would not do her any favour. I am still hopeful she will deliver. And last night she wasn’t terrible, she was just worse than our expectations that were quite high.

I hope you’re right. I just want to remind you that Sennek also wrote her own song, yet she could never deliver it as she struggled with the high notes. All the notes where Katerine’s voice shines are the very low and deep ones, where she sounds very jazzy and edgy. The thing is that ‘Better Love’ strength is at the high notes, especially during the bridge and by the end of the song and that’s where I see her going out of her comfort zone. It’s very risky and I’m still concerned if she will be able to pull… Read more »

I am very chilled with the odds: Duncan is not my personal winner, BUT if he wins in a democratic vote, I’ll be happy for him 🙂
To analyse the anger of some fans, being an early fanfavorite a) creates pressure for Duncan (so be strong hun!) and b) could be boring to some people. If everyone says 2 months before the contest, Duncan will win, some people think “okay it’s done, we know the fave already, boring”. So I am always in for suspense, surprise and drama in May. Let’s see what will happen 😀

luca gave a great show. vocally it wasn’t his best day (he wasn’t hat bad though) – but who cares, as long as he makes you jump and dance and screem. He will do great in Eurovision.
