They say that the third time’s the charm.
And in Tel Aviv maybe it will be for Serbia’s Nevena Bozovic.
She finished third – Serbia’s best result so far – at Junior Eurovision in 2007 with the song “Pisi Mi”. She followed that up performing with girlband Moje 3 at Eurovision 2013. Their song “Ljubav je Svuda” did less well. It finished 11th.
And a week ago Nevena attended the annual Eurovision in Concert event in Amsterdam. There she performed her entry “Kruna”, which translates to “Crown”. Ahead of the show we spoke with her about returning to Eurovision, her wedding and of course her powerful ballad.
Nevena Bozociv interview – Eurovision in Concert 2019
Nevena will represent her country with the emotional ballad “Kruna”. And despite two past stints singing for Serbia, homegirl ain’t tired of this gig:
“It’s a dream to represent my country. It’s a great experience, every year and I’m so excited, really!”.
The song is dedicated to her fiancé. In the interview she reveals that they plan to get married before the big Eurovision finals next month! Planning a wedding and participating in Eurovision doesn’t necessarily add stress for Nevena. She explains:
“Well, this is a special period for me and I want to enjoy it everyday and every moment of it. I don’t know, these are the best things in my life”.
The lady can multitask!
Kruna – Nevena Bozovic
The live performance shows off the power of her voice and the beauty of her Balkan ballad. How that will play out in Tel Aviv remains to be seen.
Nevena will perform ninth in the first semi-final in Tel Aviv, right after Belarus’ ZENA and followed by Belgium’s Eliot.
