The OGAE Poll 2019 top three have flipped again, as four more clubs have spoken and revealed their top tens.

OGAE Switzerland gave top marks to Italy, ten points to the Netherlands and eight to Sweden’s John Lundvik.

Belgium, still outside of the top 10, picked up two points.

OGAE Poland handed top points to Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland. Further points went to the chasing pack: seven for Sweden, four for Norway and two for Cyprus’ banger Replay.

OGAE Romania also gave their top marks to Switzerland, the Netherlands and Italy. Malta, which has hovered just outside the top ten, picked up five points.

OGAE Latvia departs slightly. They gave 12 points to Russia, with The Netherlands and Switzerland finishing off the top three. Italy only received five points.

So, what do these votes do the overall OGAE Poll 2019 scoreboard?

Italy’s Mahmood has regained the top spot. But, he only leads by a single point.

Duncan Laurence is hot on his heels in second. The ten points from all clubs have kept him in competition.

And that leaves Switzerland’s Luci Hanni in third.

The OGAE Poll is not considered an accurate prediction of Eurovision results. However, it does offer a strong indication of what songs are fan favourites and is good at predicting which songs won’t qualify for the grand-final.

I’m happy with that top 4. Four worthy winning songs

Go for it Italy! By far the best song this year – with Norway and North Macedonia as a solid number two and three! No points to the Netherlands from this end – I’m so over all the frenzy around the Dutch entry!

As for me, the Netherlands, Russia and Greece do have really high quality songs. The singers of the mentioned countries have also showed and proved that they are pretty good in live performance, so no one could deny they are professional. I didn’t like their songs at first, but I couldn’t tell anything bad about them, just no negative comment towards them. Concerning Italy, Switzerland, Norway and Sweden. OK. Italy has a good song, but the live performance didn’t attract me at all. The same did Switzerland and Norway. Sweden is overrated annually. The country gets more points from the… Read more »

Just because sweden got a lot of credit from the jury last year. As Austria and Malta last year – it is not sure the same will happen this year. For example when Frans competed for Sweden he got more votes from the televotes than the juries.

Just because Sweden got more jury points last year doesn’t mean it’s happening again. That is not how things work. Or that Italy will do well with televoters. There is indications Lundvik will do well with televoters too.

How many clubs left? This year the OGAE poll seems very exciting because of the 3-way race.

I know at least five that are still yet to report: Luxembourg, Andorra, EC Germany, Belgium (their voting wraps up this weekend) and Rest of the World (voting ended today)

I think that – at this point – Azerbaijan, Greece, Spain, Malta, Belgium, Slovenia, Australia and Iceland are underrated; some of them will make the top 10 defo. They will compete with Italy, Switzerland and The Netherlands, I reckon. Russia is lacking. Not my cup of tea, but why it is so much behind the other songs, both in juries around the ESC-bubble as on OGAE-members: beats me. Maybe it just isn’t good enough? (Sergey can always try again in ESC 2022.) 😉 Also: don’t write off San Marino that quickly. I might reckon it’ll go through the finale, somehow.… Read more »

Pimp sport on Day 1 and a feel-good uptempo song should do wonders for Serhat, if he and his stage director play their cards right and are not tempted to do overkill. Consider the example from Team Bojana from Serbia in Vienna 2015.

I dont think that Australia is underrated. For me the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, norway, and sweden are my top 5. As a dark horse i see cyprus and greece. While malta iceland Azerbaijan and armenia can make it top 10 but not top 5 for sure. But one must see the live performances. The fact that certain countries dont take part in any pre party one cant judge from a studio version only.

A bit surprising to see Australia get zero points in the OGAE poll so far… it’s the kind of over-the-top kitsch that you would expect them to appreciate. Arcade is doing surprisingly well, not an OGAE song at all.

It’s strange that you perpetuate your own fallacies avd stereotypes even in the face of results that demonstrate the exact opposite.

Because unlike his 2016 song and appearance, they believe Serhat has a song with a much greater potential to qualify, depending on what he brings to the stage. As for Jonida, they don’t believe her song compares favorably to Eugent’s song from last year.

Because Albania has a wonderful vocalist and a forgettable and tiring song! That’s my analysis!

I don’t know why they take so long to write these articles: more scores have already been revealed and Italy is leading by almost 10 points, with Netherlands as #2 and Switzerland as #3.

I’ve come from the future to let you all know that despite winning every fan/jury vote none of these songs in the top 3 will win and Greece will be the biggest surprise NQ. My regards.

I sometimes have problems with understanding these OGAE polls. In my opinion, Sergey Lazarev has a better quality song this year than in 2016. How come he’s 7th now and three years ago he finished as 2nd?!

Total sausage fest with the Top 3, but I do not mind that at all. But in all seriousness, all three provide something different. Switzerland has the greater amount of attention compared to Cyprus, as both can classify as the pop banger. If both are in the final, which is suspected, then either one can severely flop. Italy is a strong jury performance, it is yet to be seen the power it has with the public but from what I have gathered, public reactions have been strongly in favor of the song. The Netherlands can be 2017 Italy deal and… Read more »

The thing with Iceland it’s unique for sure but winning isn’t only about standing out. It’s about connecting to the act, feeling it. As unique as Iceland is how many connect to it?

It’s nice that you want the Daily Digest. Unfortunately, I am tied up with other life matters at the moment and don’t have the time to do organise it anymore. And others on the team are busy with their own things, so there’s no one to take up the mantle. 🙁
