It’s the largest event of the pre-party season and returned for its eleventh edition this year. And while loads of acts performed their songs for the energetic audience at Eurovision in Concert, only a handful emerged as winners. So we asked you discerning viewers who you liked best. After counting more than 14,000 votes the results are in. With 15.27% (2,257 votes) Duncan Laurence topped the ranking with his performance of “Arcade”. Game over!

“Arcade” — Duncan Laurence (Eurovision in Concert performance)

The Netherlands’ entry is the favourite to win the competition ever since its release in March. And with the live performance in Amsterdam, Duncan proves that the hype is there for a reason. Being on home ground, the crowd was with him from the very beginning. Many even sang along which created a unique atmosphere. He can definitely nail the song without the need of a big stage show — his voice is what carries this performance.

Our first reaction to Duncan’s “Arcade”

In second and third place, we find Albania’s Jonida Maliqi who delivered a vocally on-point performance as well as Poland’s Tulia who took many on their journey by surprise. While they were some way off Duncan Laurence, they both racked up more than 1,000 votes each, placing ahead of some of the favourites. Israel’s Kobi Marimi and Spain’s Miki rounded out the top five.

Anyone know if the guy’s gay? It would help his cause enormously if he is. Being gay is half the battle in the ESC these days.

Let’s give Tulia some credit. I think their song sounds better live and I think it could surprise a lot of people in Tel Aviv. Granted, it is in the first half of the draw, but in terms of running order, I think it is well placed. It comes after two quite bland songs, and when “Fire of love!” kicks in, I think it is going to stand out.

I get that they might be your favourite songs but still, who can honestly vote for Armenia or Greece based on those two actual performances? Georgia should’ve gotten a bit more love.

I would’ve liked to see Mahmood, John and Sergey perform here, to compare Duncan and Luca with their other main solo competitors. I agree that Jonida was fantastic. I’m keen to see her pass through her semi and get a Top 10 score in the GF for Albania. Kobi was also really strong, it’s no wonder he does so well in the polls, considering his live vocal sounds like a studio version. Flawlessly on point. I hope he brings that to the Eurovision stage and doesn’t suffer in the points for being the host country’s entry. Interesting to see the… Read more »

I just reed that Arcade has been on youtube sins 2017 according to one of the swedish composers Joel Sjöö. Is that alowed? Is’t the rule that the songs are not allowed to be played before 1/9-2018

Nooo, please don’t bring this up again. The Netherlands didn’t really break rules and that video won’t have consequences.

Now I got scared! ESC need this song and I really wish song to win. I think Arcade could be a major hit. Not just something for a show one night.

I don’t know anything about this and have missed this! But now I read that EBU are investigating this song.
Is it true that arcade was played before September last year? And if that is a fact, with could be the consequences. What can EBU deside?

True, Duncan was amazing and the best imo! But so far none of the favourites have really disappointed, so these pre-parties don’t bring any clarity to this situation. I just don’t know what will happen…
