Kobi Marimi Eurovision 2019 Israel

Forty-one countries are gearing up for Eurovision 2019 rehearsals, which begin on Saturday. And while most must contend with the semi-finals, a lucky six go direct to the grand final. These automatic qualifiers are last year’s winner and this year’s host Israel plus the Big Five — France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Since 13 March, we’ve been asking y’all to pick your favourites. And the votes are in.

After counting a total of 21,306 votes, we can reveal that Israel’s Kobi Marimi is your favourite automatic qualifier before rehearsals. The “Home” crooner picked up 8,379 votes or 39.33% of all votes cast.

While the entry is not high on the bookies’ radar, Kobi has endeared himself with fans. In Amsterdam, he overcame in-ear issues with minimum fuss. Then, in Madrid, he proved his love for the contest when our Deban made him perform an impromptu medley of all Israel’s recent entries.

In second place is the automatic qualifier which is actually ranking highest with both oddsmakers and OGAE Polls — Italy’s Mahmood. The “Soldi” hitmaker attracted 5,468 votes or 25.66% of all votes cast.

Despite struggling with the Sanremo televoters, “Soldi” has become the biggest commercial hit of Eurovision 2019 thus far. It cracked Spotify’s Global Top 50 charts, went gold in Switzerland and double platinum in Italy.

In recent weeks, the bewigged YouTuber has released his debut album and shared billings with international stars like George Ezra and Bebe Rexha.

Israel and Sweden have the same song. THE SAME SONG! It’s the same melody! One is just slower.

I love the addition of “before rehearsals”. Kobi will never be the favourite either before, during or after rehearsals.
I’m sure he’s a nice guy and the song is pleasant, but no.

Yes, Israel has a very emotional song, and kobi have the most beautiful voice in this contest. Love Italy song too.

LOL “Spanish fans rig it” yet Spain is not even in the top 3…and according to you, it would deserve a top 2.

This is how I would have ranked it. UK and Spain in the top 2 with Italy rounding off the top half and the bottom half being left for France, Israel and Germany

When you present a half hearted song created by this year’s representative from sweden you don’t win. You have to invest time and spirit into getting a good everything. Surie Last year and avr. Pop song this year expecting what? 🙂 no offence. I’m from dk i know we dont have a strong song, but at least I don’t cry to the world feeling cheated 😀

UK is 5th out or 6 Thats very worrying….and a little surprising.Israel has a song that is straight out of an IlDevo album track. Pompous, soul less and way, way over the top.

Seriously…? Something’s a bit sketchy here isn’t it? Don’t get me wrong it’s a decent song but Italy, Spain, and the UK are a lot better?…

Have you seen people’s ACTUAL top 6 for the automatic qualifiers? Usually Israel is either at the bottom or 2nd to the bottom after Germany

it is only surprising because:

1) Italy has a very strong song and a charismatic performer
2) Spain usually wins Wiwi polls…

But other than that – very well deserved. By far the best make vocals of the year!

Good luck!!

Seriously??
Italy? Spain? Even France and Germany are better Automatic qualifiers than Israel.
Nothing against Israel it’s not bad per say, it’s the typical host country entry…but to say it’s the best out of the Automatic 6 is an absolute joke.

Italy is my favourite, but I think that Kobi is underrated, I really like his song and he has great live performance and confidence on stage.

Je ne sais quoi, I know you have a special something Kobi, but at this moment it sounds excessively emotional in a bombastic and self-indulgent way. Perhaps your 5 backing vocalists will get you home safe.

Kobi is by far the best singer this year, but his song is not defently not the best. However, the song suit him and tell a very good story. Good luck.
