Belgium’s Eliot has finally brought his wake up call to Tel Aviv. He brought urban fashion combined with a somewhat otherworldly aesthetic. He looks strong as ever and most of all the message comes across very clearly.

In an interview with our William right after his first rehearsal, Eliot reflects on the rehearsal, discovering the huge stage and the venue as well.

Eliot — Interview (Belgium Eurovision 2019)

There’s one main sign shining through the performance: the double peace symbol. Coming from a very famous Belgian designer, Eliot says “one peace is good, but two peaces”… underlining and emphasising the message of the song on stage.

The drums support the song as well as the visual concept. In the studio version, the drums are very present and it was thus an easy decision to also include them on stage.

He also points out that he’s the catalyst between what’s behind and what’s in front of him. He’s attracting the crowd with his hand movements, encouraging them to move towards him to feel the same way as he does while singing. Besides, Eliot wants to share his emotions with the public.

He is still growing on stage. The clothes maybe will not understood by some part of the public. But it is a collection for youth of Walter Van Beirendonck, very famous in the fashion world (the 6 of Antwerp) . Taking the fight for the youth is a clear message today. The only thing that’s not on point are the drummers and the filming of the whole thing. He will do great next week in the 1st semi-final. Good luck Belgium
