Every day between now and the grand final in May, the team from wiwibloggs will be rounding up the latest titbits from the world of Eurovision 2019. We’ve trawled through Instagram, Twitter and elsewhere so that y’all don’t have to. This is the Daily Digest for Tuesday the 7th of May.

Rehearsals day 3: Who’s upped their game, who needs to step up?

As the first rehearsals reach their final day, this year’s Eurovision season is getting closer to its climax. Another eight acts rehearsed on stage for the first time yesterday. But who managed to exceed your expectation, and who needs to add some adjustments? Let us know in the comments below! (Florian)

Michael Rice has a moment while packing

UK singer Michael Rice appears to have had an emotional moment while packing for Tel Aviv. In a message on Instagram, he wrote that it had just hit him that the grand final was next Saturday. He also wrote, “I honestly feel like the luckiest person alive to have this opportunity” and thanked his fans for their support. (Robyn)

Duncan Laurence gets a big farewell

When Duncan Laurence made it to the airport, a media scrum was there waiting to document his send-off. But then, it’s hard to slip off unnoticed when your Eurovision entry is a big favourite to give the Netherlands its fifth Eurovision victory. (Robyn)

Michela heads to Tel Aviv

It’s almost become obligatory — the photo of the Eurovision star posing with luggage at the airport, just about to board their flight to Tel Aviv. Malta’s Michela is the most recent of the 2019 stars to make her way to Tel Aviv. Today we’ll get to see Michela perform, as she takes to the Expo Tel Aviv stage for the first rehearsals of “Chameleon”. (Robyn)

“Soldi” goes triple platinum in Italy

He’s already a big star in his home country. And now, Mahmood’s Eurovision entry “Soldi” has gone triple platinum. This is another massive achievement for the Italian singer who’s also just topped the Italian charts with his guest appearance on the single “Calipso”. (Florian)

KEiiNO’s Tom pranks Fred on flight

Sometimes it’s nice to use a long flight as an excuse to catch up on a little sleep. That’s what KEiiNO vocalist Fred was attempting to do… but Tom had other plans. Uploaded to KEiiNO’s Instagram account is a video showing a snoozing Fred being pranked by Tom, disrupting his beauty sleep. It shows a good bond between the bandmates, but we hope Fred is well rested before KEiiNO’s first rehearsal today! (Robyn)

Chingiz contemplates the calm before the storm

Azerbaijan’s Chingiz is one of few remaining acts to rehearse — and it was something that was on his mind has he took a reflective moment in Tel Aviv. The “Truth” singer wrote that it “Looks calm and peaceful before the storm.” What meteorological mayhem does Chingiz have planned? (Robyn)

Conan serves editorial realness

Conan Osíris has become known for his unique aesthetic and he’s showed this off in a new feature in fashion magazine F*cking Young!. Conan shared a few photos from the shoot, featuring face jewellery, a red rose and a drone. (Robyn)

Jonida has a spiritual moment

Ahead of her first rehearsal today, Albania’s Jonida Maliqi took the time to visit Jerusalem and explore the sacred sites. She described it as an “extraordinary spiritual and historical experience”. (Robyn)

In an interview with Turkish media, Chingiz said the Eurovision audience has never seen such a stage performance yet. It’ll be something incredible. Which proves the words of Husniya (the head of delegation) who said the same. I’m very excited, let’s see what happens. Baku 2020!

Chingiz makes me want to visit Azerbaijan, he gives me a good image of Azerbaijani people. Also when i saw 2012 eurovision in Baku I was really amazed, and also a great show I should say 🙂
