John Lundvik is representing Sweden at Eurovision 2019 with the song “Too Late for Love”. In his first rehearsal, he kept and enhanced many of the themes of his Melodifestivalen performance. After his first rehearsal yesterday, he caught up with our William and Deban for a quick interview. We discussed his rehearsal as well as his track and field past.

John Lundvik interview at Eurovision 2019

Sweden’s John Lundvik was the last artist to rehearse on Monday. He loved his rehearsal and seeing all the effects happening with the LED and the floor. This was all new to him and much grander than what he was expecting. He was certainly blown away in the viewing room after his rehearsal. The core elements of his Melfest performance were retained but elevated for the Eurovision stage.

John says that they have made minor adjustments to the Melfest performance but it has made a big difference to the overall picture. The changes to clothing, staging and the LED lights may all be minor touches but there are a lot of new things making the final product a better package.

John Lundvik also thinks our Deban needs to work on his pitch. He is not afraid to call it like it is!

What do you think of John Lundvik’s interview and his first rehearsal? Is “Too Late for Love” a contender to win it all next week? Let us know in the comments below.

Im Swedish too. He probably will be top 5. But you never know, I dont take anything for granted.
Whatever result we will be proud of him. John has the support from every Swede, I dont think Anybody since Måns had this kind of universal support.

Good Luck Lundvik, yes you meet the world whith a big smile.
Now and when you came to Sweden five years old and heard the N word for the first time. When you talked about that on skavlan I was so moved. You should write a song about that experience and how you learned to face the world with a smile.

I almost died when I watched that part of the interview. He was younger though when he got to Sweden? His PARENTS deserve acknowlegment for raising such an outstanding and talented man. He is a fighter. Accomplished sportsman, artist, human being. And he made his dream come true. #daretodream, #makeyourdreamscometrue.
