He’s finally going to show us Tel Aviv!

Everyone’s favourite Golden Boy will not miss out on the Grand Final on May 18th – despite not being one of the contestants. Nadav Guedj is going to grace the Eurovision stage one more time and perform his iconic entry “Golden Boy” from 2015 as a part of a star-studded opening act.

Nadav, of course, became everyone’s sweetheart when he danced his heart out in his golden sneakers and brought Israel back in the finals after four bleak years of not qualifying, and made his mark on every single Eurovision party that has been held ever since. No real ESC fan considers a party to be a party until they have yelled out: “But before I leave, let me show you Tel Aviv”. We can’t wait to see you again Nadav!

According to EBU’s media handbook, we are to expect one grand slam of an opening act – for it’s not only Nadav who will sing an excerpt from Israel’s one and only ESC party anthem. He will be joined on stage by Ilanit, who was the very first contestant from Israel back in 1973 with her epic song “Ey Sham”.

Both will also be joined by Idan Raichel. Idan is Israel’s most beloved musical icon with a career that spans over 15 years, and his music is considered to be an unmissable part of the daily life all over Israel.

Bringing her superpowers all the way from Hollywood, the Israeli Wonder Woman Gal Gadot will have a big surprise in store for Eurovision fans near and far.

It is clear that the Grand Final in Tel Aviv will most definitely go down in Eurovision history books as one of the most glamorous shows ever.

What do you think about the Grand Final opening act line up? Are you happy to see Nadav return? Please let us know in the comment section below.

I’m excited for Nadav of course…but Ilanit! I love when the contest draws on its long history. This will be great.

It would have been such a failure to not let him perform in Tel Aviv.

But I would like some scenes from him actually showing Europe Tel Aviv, that would be awesome.
