The German S!sters had their second rehearsal yesterday and we caught up with them in between their busy schedule. They spoke about the message of their song, the new choreography and Germany’s common history with Israel.

S!sters interview at Eurovision 2019

The duo behind S!sters, Carlotta Truman and Laurita Spinelli, are smiling and happy with their rehearsals which revealed that two words will be shown on screen during their show — “respect” and “sorry”.

The two German stars explain why they have chosen to use these words. “As soon as you respect yourself you can respect others. So I think these two words are very important for that song because it’s about forgiving yourself first and then you can respect others,” Laurita says.

S!sters also tell us that they are pleased with not having to stand on a moving podium where it was way too easy to lose balance. Instead the two singers are walking on two catwalks where they, very symbolically, meet in the middle.

S!sters emotional about common history with Israel

Carlotta and Laurita are carrying two flags during the interview — the German flag and the Israeli flag. The conversation then turns to the common history these two nations share and Carlotta and Laurita say that they have been met with nothing but love and warmth in Tel Aviv.

They also reveal that they have been to the Yad Vashem World Holocaust Center.

“When you come to Israel, no matter where you are from, you should come to Yad Vashem first,” Laurita says, while Carlotta calls it “a life-changing experience”.

The two S!sters are full of love and let’s hope they will carry all that love onto the stage when they perform in the first half of the grand final on Saturday.

it is so sad to see the German delegation not taking care of them and their staging. They just let them exposed with a amateurish staging, unlike last year. This is 2017 all over again.

Aly Ryan would have slayed.
