One sings a tender heartfelt ballad, the other a slice of soulful disco-pop. And tonight both Duncan Laurence and John Lundvik will take to the stage in the jury show of Semi-Final 2 of Eurovision 2019.
Eurovision 2019 Semi-Final 2 Odds To Win:
In the market to win Duncan is out in front*. The Netherlands is the favourite to win with odds low odds across the board. His highest odds are 6/4 at Bet365, which reflects market confidence in his abilities.
Sweden‘s John Lundvik is in second and in the blue at SportingBet. That means his odds to win are shortening. They list his chances at 11/4.
Sergey Lazarev from Russia follows in third. His ballad “Scream” is low in the odds, but does not command the same confidence enjoyed by the Netherlands or Sweden. Unibet is one of several bookmakers offering high odds at 5/1.
Azerbaijan and Switzerland round out the top five in the to win market. 888Sport puts Azerbaijan at 13/2 and SkyBet lists Luca Hannï’s chances to win at 12/1 so they’re some distance behind the leaders.
Eurovision 2019 Semi-Final 2 Odds To Qualify:
The to qualify market is a close reflection of the to win market.
One difference is the leader: Sweden is out in front, with The Netherlands in second and Russia third.
Azerbaijan and Switzerland follow.
Malta, Norway, North Macedonia, Armenia and Denmark make up the rest of the top ten.
If the odds are right that means we’ll say goodbye to these eight countries at the end of Semi-Final 2:
- Albania
- Romania
- Austria
- Lithuania
- Moldova
- Croatia
- Latvia
- Ireland
We can expect movement in the odds after tonight’s jury show final.
What do you make of the odds? Are these your ten qualifiers? Let us know in the comments below!

And the one who had to win representing Romania, Laura Bretan was boycotted by a purchased jury and did not reach the competition. It won easily with the vote of the public, but it was lowered by the foreign jury. See but: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1NPm88iflU
26 songs…How is possible CONAN be absent!!!????
Conan was too avant garde, yes its different but sometimes you have to remember a lot of juries haven’t seen the entries beforehand and similarly first time viewers would’ve been scratching their heads which makes it hard for them to go and vote for it
I like much the song from Ireland nobody talk about she .I go to vote for Ireland tonight .
The fandom always underrate Ireland every year, even last year they had us dead last on every poll etc but we finished 16th in the final.
Unsure about our success this year though. I’ve a feeling we are back to the NQs
I think Ireland got a big chance tonight. She is lovely, the song is good and it is a cute and fun performance. The song get stuck in your head easily. That always helps. Good luck to you!
Cheers Swedish Moose
I’m voting Netherlands, Azerbaijan and Sweden tonight. They will qualify easily anyway, , but I’m sending them my love regardless
I did wote for Ireland 🙁 I’m so sorry! I’m so sad about Romania aswell!!! Thank you for you vote!
Relax. Ireland has many fans, myself included.
with laura romania would make the final with ease but 2 men has played god…
no MARUV,no joci & no laura = no really ESC fun for me this year.
Don’t watch then. We don’t need homophobic people on the Eurovision stage.
Homophobic?, you are such an id iot, What does homophobia have to do with art and music? You are a poor and miserable person.
This semi could be a bloodbath, I get the feeling one or two we think are going to qualify will not: there’s only 3 or 4 I think have no chance but we can’t select 13 tonight.
I dont think there is any doubt that Russia, The Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and Azerbajan will qualify, personally i dont like the Russian entry but its gonna go to the final for sure, the other 5 places i think Malta will go through without any problems, and the final 4 spots could be a fight but i think most likely it will be North Macedonia, Norway, Romania and hopefully Albania. If it was my own personal choice i would take out Russia and Norway and replace with Austria and Ireland.
Austria??? How can anyone like that squeeky voice. I had to walk out. I do no do that very often. Absolutely dreadful. She seems a nice girl so there will be something else for her. Singing it isn’t.
My Top 10 for 2nd Semi-Final:
Russia
North Macedonia
Albania
Denmark
Moldova
Latvia
Sweden
Austria
Azerbaijan
Lithuania
As a Swede, it is funny to see people feel threatened.
As a Swede… I think we all should just chill and see what happens. And support each other! No need for arrogance
No offence, but are you new here?
It would be easy to chill if people din’t constantly hate your country. Sweden is hated here. Last year people cheered when Sweden only got 21 points by the voters. Even in the arena. Who know same thing might happen this year too..
So we take nothing for granted.
No, I have been reading the page seens 2011. I know all about the hate, and of course I was devastated when people cheered in that situation and booed when Benjamin went through. BUT I do undrerstand the other side of the coin. And I don’t agree with swedes who says that we will win the whole thing or the semi. I think we all should wait and see. And be humble. We can afford to be that with all the wins we got
Lol that feels the same for a Dutchie 🙂
I know I will be sad watching this semi final because I really want to see Romania, Macedonia and Albania all qualify but I don’t think it’s realistic to believe all three will be qualifying. Eurovision gods if you’re out there, I’m more than happy to sacrifice the likes of Norway and Armenia xD
Yep im with you there, i would love to see Romania, Macedonia and Albania all qualify but i think its going to be difficult.
Sergey’s Scream performance is really good both vocally and visually. A lot more original and modern sounding than Only One. Wouldn’t rule out the possibility of Russia winning TBH
Like Australia. The lady in the air hides her awful song.
Charli Cheer Up: 100% Agree!
I agree its theater
i have huge emotions for my country, Romania.. if we will not qualify again for the second time in a row i will be heartbroken
I like Ester. But from what I’d seen at the jury show (my friend recorded it at his FB), it’s not really promising. Nothing wows me compared to some other entries. Even Ireland did better (my impression is based on that video).
Same goes with Switzerland. His voice sounded shaky, although not as drunk as our daddy Serhat hahahaha
I don’t care if we qualify or not. It’s all about Ester, because she is bullied by those primitives Bretan fans who think voice is everything… Vincerooooooooo,..Vinceroooooooooo, ……Vincerooooooooooo, Vincerooooooooo
Really someone makes such a pitiful comment about Laura … it’s not the fans, it’s the quality with which she sings … far superior to the one they chose, which, oh coincidence, did not even appear …
I’ve got my fingers crossed for Romania tonight! I really love the song and I hope her performance will go as well as possible
Fingers on both your hands please!
I think Romania will qualify.
There is a lot of albanians all round the world, so …
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66UiZbaIHQ0&feature=youtu.be
The Netherlands so beautifull
This high-key feels like a winner performance, wow!
If Arcade was sung by other singer (someone who can deliver real and pure emotions), then it would be great. But unfortunately, no strong emotions, average voice, and therefore, average song. Not a winner for me. Place 10 in final. Listen better how Roko sang Arcade. This is how this song should sound.
The way arcade is sung is pure and full of emotion. And the reason why? Because the singer has co wrote the song from his own emotions. The fact that you don’t see it that way is probably you haven’t tried to. And an average voice is certainly not what Duncan has, even a child could come to that conclusion 🙂
And really , i like Roko too but don’t compare the two of them, they both are great in their own way!
?? you sound very jealous Kristy, and I did hear Roko’s version from arcade…he scipt the high notes, because he cannot song them like Duncan can
Haha oohhh Kristy, your so funny……NOT!
Kristy is a bit Envious and jealous, aren’t you Kristy?
Come on, he is a bad singer and destroyed his own song.
BTW, not everyone likes the Netherlands Arcade… live with it.
If he wins, he will be one of the worst winners in all Eurovision history.
It is so sad that you can’t like Sweden on this site without being downvoted. The same with Russia I guess. I hope that Sweden will make it to the final.
There is much hate for all the top favorites…like every year.
Because they are announced as winners already 3 month before Eurovision. And it is so annoying. I cannot even enjoy the show when I already know who is going to win. So I hope for less favorite song to win. People who cannot decide which song they like the most, check out bookmaker odds, different tops, and see oh, … this country is top 1, ok it is probably good then. then they vote for that. (Not because they like it, but because others say its the best).. It is like advertising some certain songs, as if countries pay to… Read more »
Sweden or Russia.
Russia.
Question to you all:
Who should Purple Mask vote for in Semi Final 2, and why? 🙂
Albania, because Ketju Jokes needs to be in the final
at
any
cost.
Vote for Austria so they can finally play Zero Gravity at the press conference.
The song you like the most.
I’ll try to predict ten qualifiers, even if almost all songs have some legitimate reasons to make it. 1. The Netherlands – The obvious first one to make it, probably even winning the semi. It’s impactful, emotional and has a great position in running order. Even if someone else wins, this is certainly sailing through the final in top 5. 2. Russia – Except last year, Russia always does well. Sergey is an amazing performer, the song is very dramatic and the staging looks striking. I don’t see this missing out in any version. 3. Sweden – Besides the fact… Read more »
I agree that Austria is underrated.
Albania might be in trouble – it was the wrong semi final and a bad draw for Jonida. 🙁
Dare I mention that Croatia might grab a few votes from a certain audience? 😉
I can see Croatia being like 7th in televote and 12th with the juries and thus qualifying on 10th spot or so. Not impossible. Roko has a great voice. The staging is… well, it’s noticeable. Yeah, I can see this going through instead of Austria or Armenia.
Please, join the petition! Not only for Portugal and Hungary but for all countries that suffered from injustice last night and to prevent more problems tomorrow and Saturday. Some people were unable to vote for their favorite countries. In some contries, a lot of people got the message “error” while calling to vote for their favorites. Their votes didn’t count!!
https://www.change.org/p/eurovision-recount-eurovision-2019-first-semifinal
Just chill and enjoy the contest. It’s not the end of the world, so no need for drama. These are not political elections.
If some country have problem with televote ,they use only juries result (it is EBU rules). If some country have problem with juries votes, they use only televote result.
@pp77
Yes , but that hasn’t happened yet. And in the meantime almost nobody was able to vote for portugal, which is a pretty big deal in a singing competition where a delegation puts in six months of work… People who wave this off as something small should be ashamed of themselves. Imagine if it was your country that stayed in the semi final only because nobody was able to vote for it.
Why do i have a feeling that sweden won the jury show???
I actually think Netherlands smashed it and won the jury vote. I guess we’ll find out after the final
Press poll had Netherlands on a massive 133 and winning semi 2 by a country mile…
Well they won but not by a mile. Sweden is not that far behind. We will see tomorrow! I guess Netherland will win.
Well we won´t see until after the grand final…
They won but it wasn’t exactly by a mile. It was tight race.
Also press poll doesn’t mean they actually won it, just that the press find it best. But they don’t decide, do they? Juries and audience decide.
Romania will not make it, Albania is up to televoters as it will do well with juries (they have some diaspora voting coming from Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Sweden, FYR Macedonia)
Armenia could stay out of the top 10, same for Denmark.
if albania doesn’t make it…
i
will
nuke
them
ALL
!!
where are the juries????DO YOUR JOB!!
There’s no way Denmark can qualify and Albania can’t… let me join you in case they commit a Eurovision crime.
Anybody know how the jury rehearsals went? Any particular countries looking like strong contenders? And pre-contest favorites starting to fall??
I NEEDS TO KNOW!!!!!!!!
Yea both Duncan and Lundvik completely butchered their jury performance. There’s no way they can advance now.
Love your use of irony
Basically, all the big favorites to qualify -current top 6 of betting odds- did well and got warmer applause from the press center. North Macedonia also.
They were warmer with Albania then NM…why don’t you mention it?
Omg I’m so excited, will this be our year after 44 years of not winning?? GO DUNCAN
Looking at SF 1 qualifiers, here’s my prediction:
Netherlands, Sweden, Russia, Azerbaijan, Malta, Romania, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway.
It’s completely different from my wish list, but yesterday semi-final has showed me that it’s (almost) all about the upbeat songs this year.
5 entries you mentioned are not upbeat songs, so you contradict your point
Will there be something about the Sisters-Video at Wiwibloggs?
Wiwi covered it on YouTube already.
Listening to the live stream of the jury final on youtube the biggest applauses of the night sounds like they went to North Macedonia, Azerbajan and The Netherlands. Cant comment on Armenia coz i missed the beginning but i understand she had some kind of ear microphone problem so might perform again.
Albania has to go through, would be such a shame to leave that masterpiece in the semis.
Cmon Europe ??????
i need ester, jonida and tamara to pull thru
Jon Ola just announced that the difference beetwen the 10th and 11th place was only 2 points… 8/10 qualifiers juries and televote agreed upon on… #votesmatter!!
Heard that too, already made up some speculations.
Televoters couldve preferred Portugal and Poland over Belarus and Cyprus
Judges could‘ve preferred Georgia and Hungary over San Marino and Estonia
11th one that missed out I predict that it is not Portugal, it might be Hungary, Poland or a surprise like Georgia.
Last two places Montenegro and Finland, Belgium finished between 13th and 15th
These are only my shot at what could‘ve been part of the full results of SF 1
My vote are go to Azerbaijan and Switzerland
I don’t care what happens tbh as long as Armenia goes through, it’s the only one I’m really invested in this semi. I hope Srbuk can pull through.
So…are we ignoring the fact that some people from Spain and France were unable to vote for Portugal?! Hopefully this kind of stuff is gonna be reviewed so it doesn’t happen again in the future…
I think that Romania will qualify, but I’m not sure about the one who won’t. Lowkey feels like Armenia, sadly. Vocally killing it and the performance is amazing, but may come off as scary. Last year’s NQ doesn’t help at all. Running order could be better.
I hope Switzerland will flop in the final. The song is good, but the performance is autrocious.
I mean San Marino unexpectedly qualified so anyone can qualify.
In SF2, that’s not necessarily so.
That “unexpectedly” is debatable. Many people believed in Serhat. The only problem is that San Marino is a small country and never much talked about.
my money will go to switzerland and the netherlands
You will lose your money on Switzerland for sure don’t say I didn’t warn you
my vote goes to Malta.
Report on Israel’s channel 12: Crisis between EBU and Madonna over anti christian messages in her Like a Prayer performance
LOL, are we suddenly back in the 80’s or what? Who still get offended over that song?
EBU has rules : no politics, no religion.
If one wants to break that rule, then everybody will want to do the same. Eurovision will not exist at all then.
Perhaps it would be for the best, if they will try and make it into a pointless parade of authoritarian systems anyway.
An anti christian message is very edgy, unneeded, uncalled for and not okay. Just imagine the commotion that would happen if she did an anti islam message.
Good. The last thing we need is Madonna on the show. Don’t get me wrong – I respect her as an artist and love her older music, but performances like this don’t belong to Eurovision.
I’m all for having star acts as interval acts, but surely there are more contemporary and European artists who would love to perform on the world’s largest TV show and would fit its format.
What’s more interesting is how is KAN going to handle loosing several minutes of interval act. There still is a time to fly Maruv into Kyiv! 🙂
Yes, because Maruv is what the grand public would see? haha
Netherlands isn’t really that big of a favourite though. It got 25% chance to win, according to polls. Which is more than Anybody else but still not much of a number. It means that it has a bigger chance to not win than to win. The field is open!
I think you mean 30% …
They have 30% chance to win which is quite a big lead, but still like you mentioned I think this year definitely is wide open for sure, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Cyprus, Malta, Azerbaijan probably will all do well for sure, but then again Serbia went up in the polls. So literally anyone can win, it’s going to be exciting.
Well, acoording to the odds, Netta had 24% just before the final las year.
I agree. And a win based on what? The Netherland’s rehearsals have not been that great.
Tonight’s dress rehearsal was flawless. Superb.
the odds say he is, but I don’t think he is a clear winner.
33% at 10am
35% now, oh my god.. The will soon be lower than 2.0
uhhhh 36 % now 🙂
Jon Ola wrote that 2 points was difference between 10 and 11 place in I semi. And also that juries, televote agree with 8 finalist.
My guess in that case is that the televote saved San Marino, while the juries saved Serbia. My reasoning behind the fact is that SM was nowhere near polished for juries to rank it that high. As for Serbia, it’s a song appreciated among fans and press polls, but frequently seen 25th-32nd in big aggregator polls for general audiences on You Tube. 11th was hopefully Portugal or Poland.
I think S Marino out of TOP 10 with juries, and Estonia out of TOP 10 with televote.
My prediction 11.Georgia 12.Poland 13.Hungary 14.Belgium 15.Portugal 16.Montenegro 17.Finland
Deban said that Slovenia was the least talked about on social media during the show, so it actually might be them who got saved by the juries. I see people somewhat questioning the qualifications of Estonia and Belarus, but I honestly don’t see the juries pushing for them in higher amount than the public. Both probably did well because of charismatic performers and easily accessible songs (personally I love Estonia and don’t like “Like It”, but I can see it’s cool on stage). It’s likely SM and Slovenia.
I think the televote saved Belarus and the juries saved San Marino. I can’t see the public backing San Marino that much
Drunk juries then.
San Marino would have had more televotes than jury support
I think you haven’t watched YT videos recently. Serbia was among top 5 in every video for SF1 after rehearsals.
Btw, I think that maybe juries saved San Marino. In past, some countries withdrew from the competition because they failed to qualify for many years, and I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the jury’s “duty” is to stop that from happening again.
But, that’s only a thought.
If we have in I semi surprise to see San Marino,Belarus to go to final (both in betting odds out of Top 10 qualiffiers), I have feeling that we have surprise to see Ireland,Romania,Austria in final, instead Armenia,Denmark, N.Macedonia.
I hope you’re right.
No way should Ireland be last in the odds.
Right it’s a string semi with about 15 good songs competing for 10 places. I’m not saying we 100% deserve to qualify…I actually don’t think we will. But to be dead last with like likes of Croatia, Lithuania, Romania ahead is a bit of a joke if you ask me.
Ireland isn’t perfect but it’s certainly not the worst song in the semi.
I completely agree with you, I really like Ireland’s song and she doesn’t deserve last place having Croatia and Lithuania… Truly underrated along with Austria
The Irish song is lovely. Just enjoy the show and don’t focus too much on the competition part, which is just about deciding who gets to host the following year.
Belarus is on fire this year. Their commentator gave homophobic comments ans the jury revealed their points already. Whats wrong with Belarus?
Say WHAT? Details pretty please.
@Whisker: See here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-news-from-elsewhere-48283982
Norway is clearly not qualifying. I think people saying otherwise are a bit delusional. Or maybe I am. We’ll see.
Let me tell you that the exact same people who let San Marino slide through are doing the same with Norway.
I don’t think so, they cannot vote in Semi 2….
Oh San Marino was my second favourite yesterday. Norway is a very different kind of beast. It’s not fun, it’s cringey. For me. For others, idk.
Your 2nd? it was my 15th
there is no way albania will miss
i need albania and romania to pull thru. we can leave armenia at home, the disappointment of the year.
I am totally with you on this. Albania and Romania are both great. I have no idea how betting odds are sleeping on them. Armenia is… fine, but I have similar problem with them as with Moldova. I don’t feel the connection between the performer and the content. Not only that someone else wrote the song, but it’s very obvious too. I really feel nothing there.
If Albania is not in the final this year people deserve to listen I’ll be flossin’ Backpack kid for the rest of their lives
I’m sorry, but if the staging makes you asleep, which, sadly is the case, then you won’t even hear it. The kid would do the same thing or people turning the TV off means that the views for the final would really drop. The song is amazing, but in this bloodbath in order to qualify you need both – an amazing song, that Jonida is serving and a great staging which Albania ain’t giving to us this year.
I like the fact that there were a few shocks in last nights semi final, though do think the songs should be judged on how good the singer performs them, live, and the lyrics/meaning of the song. I feel pyrotechnics and special effects are overshadowing the performances every year. That said, in my opinion I do believe The Netherlands deserves the win this year.
I love the song, I find it in it, far from it, but I think that cheap lamp and a fake piano can not bring the victory. That is my opinion.
No victory for the boy with the naked bu tt who thinks he can be like Salvador Sobral. Europe will not vote for this.
Duncan belongs to a certain district no decent wo/man will go to.
wtf…
I really hope North Macedonia gets through. I was very confident after her rehearsals but seeing yesterday’s results I am very worried a country like Croatia or Lithuania might take her spot… Please vote for Tamara, she really deserves it and they finally got the staging and the live singing right!!
Yes, but she is not the only performer who has a good vocal and a good stage performance. Honestly, after yesterday’s semifinal, I really think everything is possible, so to pass, but not to pass.
I have feeling that N.Macedonia will finish like Georgia 2017. Strong vocal, good song, but out of TOP 10 in semi.
Well if she doesn’t qualify, I hope that will be the outcome
This semi is packed with ‘jury countries’ (Russia, Sweden, Malta, Azerbaijan, Netherlands), that I don’t really want to bother on who’s qualifying on the jury’s side (or even the televoting side for occasions), unless miracle happens and juries ditched these countries out of their scoreboard. It’s competitive but all of it was just too polished and in the end leaves me cold. Well, SF2, surprise me.
The more interesting and “unique” entries were definitely in SF1. I find this SF fascinating. I mean, all the big jury points are going to be going to the same set of songs. A song like Malta might end up only picking up 4s and 5s from the juries here because their points are going elsewhere.
Ironically enough, this SF is screaming out for something like Portugal for televoters to get behind.
What? Russia has never been a jury country.
Dima Bilan was in glory during 100% televote.
Sergey won no. 1 in televote in 2016.
Jamala won just for anti Russia message.
Thank you for your like. If anybody thinks Russia is a jury country, that means that person started to follow ESC yesterday, literally.
Okay, so maybe I was wrong to think a country that can persist its placement to never sink from top 15 of the jury scores as a ‘jury country’. Russia is a televoting country, but i’m doubting that’s the case this year: this entry might cater more to the juries than televoting, but yeah, maybe you’re right.
Bookmakers are the main indicators of how the audience will be and who will favor, and 50% of the vote is carried by a jury that maybe Switzerland and Malta will not like it. I think there is a great likelihood that there will be surprises, I do not believe that Malta, Russia, the Netherlands, Azerbaijan and Sweden will also pass directly. There may be surprises.
Obviously viewers and jury do not have the same taste, which is quite legitimate right.
You have a hidden agenda against Maltese entries so cut the crap. You’re always speaking against Malta’s entries.
Is ‘Chameleon’ even worthy to be called a Maltese entry, while in fact it is not?
Although there’s favourites to win and some very good songs, this year unless last year, we really don’t know who will win, Netherlands are the favourites with an amazing song, but Malta are good, Sweden are good, Switzerland have a good guy singing for them this year, After the first semi final I love Serbia’s song, we really can’t call who will win, because it’s so close in good artists this year.
I LOVE this year because it’s such an open race! There is so many songs I would be totally happy for if they won the whole thing. Such improvement compared to last year when I really didn’t have any clear favorite for like the first time ever (including my own country) this is so exiting!
I agree with you one hundred percent, and I love your country’s song by the way, you guys never fail to disappoint and always deliver and take it so seriously, unlike us in the UK who we definitely need some votes, if you could maybe vote for us lol. But I love so many countries this year, the Netherlands, Malta, Switzerland, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Serbia, Cyprus, I just have so many I would love to win, so it’s going to be so close on Saturday.
Thank you for your nice words. I I would be surprised if sweden doesn’t give any points to UK this year. I’m sure we will! I have nothing against any song that is left in the competition really. Although I really love Romania, Russia and Island. I like all of the Big 5 among with Azerbaijan, Serbia, Norway, Malta, Estonia and so on….even if I don’t mention them all I really like most of the songs this year
Absolutely, and for sure with some others Sweden will definitely get my vote tomorrow for sure, but its so open this year we really cant call who will win, But like you said there’s some good songs, So I’m sure Saturday will be purely entertaining, and good luck to Sweden as well.
Saturday will be amazing! Thank you and I will give some of my votes to UK on the night aswell. This year you deserve to be recognized. He has a beutiful voice and stage presents
