One sings a tender heartfelt ballad, the other a slice of soulful disco-pop. And tonight both Duncan Laurence and John Lundvik will take to the stage in the jury show of Semi-Final 2 of Eurovision 2019.

Eurovision 2019 Semi-Final 2 Odds To Win:

In the market to win Duncan is out in front*. The Netherlands is the favourite to win with odds low odds across the board. His highest odds are 6/4 at Bet365, which reflects market confidence in his abilities.

Sweden‘s John Lundvik is in second and in the blue at SportingBet. That means his odds to win are shortening. They list his chances at 11/4.

Sergey Lazarev from Russia follows in third. His ballad “Scream” is low in the odds, but does not command the same confidence enjoyed by the Netherlands or Sweden. Unibet is one of several bookmakers offering high odds at 5/1.

Azerbaijan and Switzerland round out the top five in the to win market. 888Sport puts Azerbaijan at 13/2 and SkyBet lists Luca Hannï’s chances to win at 12/1 so they’re some distance behind the leaders.

Eurovision 2019 Semi-Final 2 Odds To Qualify:

The to qualify market is a close reflection of the to win market.

One difference is the leader: Sweden is out in front, with The Netherlands in second and Russia third.

Azerbaijan and Switzerland follow.

Malta, Norway, North MacedoniaArmenia and Denmark make up the rest of the top ten.

If the odds are right that means we’ll say goodbye to these eight countries at the end of Semi-Final 2:

  • Albania
  • Romania
  • Austria
  • Lithuania
  • Moldova
  • Croatia
  • Latvia
  • Ireland

We can expect movement in the odds after tonight’s jury show final.

What do you make of the odds? Are these your ten qualifiers? Let us know in the comments below!

And the one who had to win representing Romania, Laura Bretan was boycotted by a purchased jury and did not reach the competition. It won easily with the vote of the public, but it was lowered by the foreign jury. See but: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1NPm88iflU

I dont think there is any doubt that Russia, The Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland and Azerbajan will qualify, personally i dont like the Russian entry but its gonna go to the final for sure, the other 5 places i think Malta will go through without any problems, and the final 4 spots could be a fight but i think most likely it will be North Macedonia, Norway, Romania and hopefully Albania. If it was my own personal choice i would take out Russia and Norway and replace with Austria and Ireland.

If Arcade was sung by other singer (someone who can deliver real and pure emotions), then it would be great. But unfortunately, no strong emotions, average voice, and therefore, average song. Not a winner for me. Place 10 in final. Listen better how Roko sang Arcade. This is how this song should sound.

Adrian ESC

The way arcade is sung is pure and full of emotion. And the reason why? Because the singer has co wrote the song from his own emotions. The fact that you don’t see it that way is probably you haven’t tried to. And an average voice is certainly not what Duncan has, even a child could come to that conclusion 🙂
And really , i like Roko too but don’t compare the two of them, they both are great in their own way!

I’ll try to predict ten qualifiers, even if almost all songs have some legitimate reasons to make it. 1. The Netherlands – The obvious first one to make it, probably even winning the semi. It’s impactful, emotional and has a great position in running order. Even if someone else wins, this is certainly sailing through the final in top 5. 2. Russia – Except last year, Russia always does well. Sergey is an amazing performer, the song is very dramatic and the staging looks striking. I don’t see this missing out in any version. 3. Sweden – Besides the fact… Read more »

Good. The last thing we need is Madonna on the show. Don’t get me wrong – I respect her as an artist and love her older music, but performances like this don’t belong to Eurovision.

I’m all for having star acts as interval acts, but surely there are more contemporary and European artists who would love to perform on the world’s largest TV show and would fit its format.

What’s more interesting is how is KAN going to handle loosing several minutes of interval act. There still is a time to fly Maruv into Kyiv! 🙂

My guess in that case is that the televote saved San Marino, while the juries saved Serbia. My reasoning behind the fact is that SM was nowhere near polished for juries to rank it that high. As for Serbia, it’s a song appreciated among fans and press polls, but frequently seen 25th-32nd in big aggregator polls for general audiences on You Tube. 11th was hopefully Portugal or Poland.

Deban said that Slovenia was the least talked about on social media during the show, so it actually might be them who got saved by the juries. I see people somewhat questioning the qualifications of Estonia and Belarus, but I honestly don’t see the juries pushing for them in higher amount than the public. Both probably did well because of charismatic performers and easily accessible songs (personally I love Estonia and don’t like “Like It”, but I can see it’s cool on stage). It’s likely SM and Slovenia.

Right it’s a string semi with about 15 good songs competing for 10 places. I’m not saying we 100% deserve to qualify…I actually don’t think we will. But to be dead last with like likes of Croatia, Lithuania, Romania ahead is a bit of a joke if you ask me.

I’m sorry, but if the staging makes you asleep, which, sadly is the case, then you won’t even hear it. The kid would do the same thing or people turning the TV off means that the views for the final would really drop. The song is amazing, but in this bloodbath in order to qualify you need both – an amazing song, that Jonida is serving and a great staging which Albania ain’t giving to us this year.

I like the fact that there were a few shocks in last nights semi final, though do think the songs should be judged on how good the singer performs them, live, and the lyrics/meaning of the song. I feel pyrotechnics and special effects are overshadowing the performances every year. That said, in my opinion I do believe The Netherlands deserves the win this year.

I love the song, I find it in it, far from it, but I think that cheap lamp and a fake piano can not bring the victory. That is my opinion.

No victory for the boy with the naked bu tt who thinks he can be like Salvador Sobral. Europe will not vote for this.

I really hope North Macedonia gets through. I was very confident after her rehearsals but seeing yesterday’s results I am very worried a country like Croatia or Lithuania might take her spot… Please vote for Tamara, she really deserves it and they finally got the staging and the live singing right!!

Yes, but she is not the only performer who has a good vocal and a good stage performance. Honestly, after yesterday’s semifinal, I really think everything is possible, so to pass, but not to pass.

I have feeling that N.Macedonia will finish like Georgia 2017. Strong vocal, good song, but out of TOP 10 in semi.

Well if she doesn’t qualify, I hope that will be the outcome

This semi is packed with ‘jury countries’ (Russia, Sweden, Malta, Azerbaijan, Netherlands), that I don’t really want to bother on who’s qualifying on the jury’s side (or even the televoting side for occasions), unless miracle happens and juries ditched these countries out of their scoreboard. It’s competitive but all of it was just too polished and in the end leaves me cold. Well, SF2, surprise me.

The more interesting and “unique” entries were definitely in SF1. I find this SF fascinating. I mean, all the big jury points are going to be going to the same set of songs. A song like Malta might end up only picking up 4s and 5s from the juries here because their points are going elsewhere.
Ironically enough, this SF is screaming out for something like Portugal for televoters to get behind.

What? Russia has never been a jury country.
Dima Bilan was in glory during 100% televote.
Sergey won no. 1 in televote in 2016.
Jamala won just for anti Russia message.

Thank you for your like. If anybody thinks Russia is a jury country, that means that person started to follow ESC yesterday, literally.

Okay, so maybe I was wrong to think a country that can persist its placement to never sink from top 15 of the jury scores as a ‘jury country’. Russia is a televoting country, but i’m doubting that’s the case this year: this entry might cater more to the juries than televoting, but yeah, maybe you’re right.

Bookmakers are the main indicators of how the audience will be and who will favor, and 50% of the vote is carried by a jury that maybe Switzerland and Malta will not like it. I think there is a great likelihood that there will be surprises, I do not believe that Malta, Russia, the Netherlands, Azerbaijan and Sweden will also pass directly. There may be surprises.

Obviously viewers and jury do not have the same taste, which is quite legitimate right.

You have a hidden agenda against Maltese entries so cut the crap. You’re always speaking against Malta’s entries.

Is ‘Chameleon’ even worthy to be called a Maltese entry, while in fact it is not?

Although there’s favourites to win and some very good songs, this year unless last year, we really don’t know who will win, Netherlands are the favourites with an amazing song, but Malta are good, Sweden are good, Switzerland have a good guy singing for them this year, After the first semi final I love Serbia’s song, we really can’t call who will win, because it’s so close in good artists this year.

I LOVE this year because it’s such an open race! There is so many songs I would be totally happy for if they won the whole thing. Such improvement compared to last year when I really didn’t have any clear favorite for like the first time ever (including my own country) this is so exiting!

I agree with you one hundred percent, and I love your country’s song by the way, you guys never fail to disappoint and always deliver and take it so seriously, unlike us in the UK who we definitely need some votes, if you could maybe vote for us lol. But I love so many countries this year, the Netherlands, Malta, Switzerland, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Serbia, Cyprus, I just have so many I would love to win, so it’s going to be so close on Saturday.

Thank you for your nice words. I I would be surprised if sweden doesn’t give any points to UK this year. I’m sure we will! I have nothing against any song that is left in the competition really. Although I really love Romania, Russia and Island. I like all of the Big 5 among with Azerbaijan, Serbia, Norway, Malta, Estonia and so on….even if I don’t mention them all I really like most of the songs this year
