Betting odds are in flux following last night’s jury show and the announcement of the running order for the Grand Final in the early hours of Friday morning.

Switzerland third favourite in Eurovision 2019 odds to win

The major winner appears to be Switzerland‘s Luca Hannï.

After problematic rehearsals he tumbled in the odds, but he’s now moving in the opposite direction.

Overnight Switzerland has entered the top three to win. On May 7 SportingBet was offering 16/1 but they’ve now cut it to 10/1. Luca is also in the blue at bookies which means his odds to win are shortening.

Another act on the offensive is Iceland‘s Hatari. They also fell victim to rehearsals and have been outside the top five for some time. Their jury performance appears to have boosted their fortunes. Bet365 offers them as low as 16/1. They’re also in the blue at a spread of bookies.

Sweden, Italy and Azerbaijan fall back in the odds after Eurovision 2019 Grand Final jury show

Sweden, Italy and Azerbaijan have all fallen back following the jury show.

In some cases John Lundvik’s odds to win have doubled. On May 10 888Sport listed his odds to win at 6/1. They now offer him at 12/1. SportingBet has his chances of victory as high as 16/1. He’s now fourth favourite to win.

Another casualty appears to be Italy‘s Mahmood. Unibet and 888Sport both have his chances as high as 25/1. Mahmood’s vocal sounded strong last night, but the perception of some that the stageshow is not a standout may have harmed him. He’s now only sixth favourite.

And finally Azerbaijan, which rose as high as fourth following first rehearsals, has now dropped to ninth. Ladbrokes has doubled Chingiz’s odds from 10/1 to 20/1 and his odds are now as long as 33/1 at Unibet.

The Netherlands remains the market leader, followed by Australia, although there is a significant distance between the two. The best price for The Netherlands’ in the odds is 3/4 vs 7/1 for Australia.

What do you make of the odds? Will The Netherlands win? Is Switzerland a dark horse? Let us know in the comments below!

This is going to be such a good night, where music is all that matters tonight, when voting for your favourite countries I hope that pure talent prevails and gets full recognition, and that we vote for a song contest, and that’s it. Let’s vote right tonight.
Greetings from the UK.

I am starting to think Aussies have it in the bag. It’s all set up for them to win. Sources tell me they won the jury vote . As a Brit I would love Aussies or us jointly to host it and perhaps Kylie performing. I wish we made more of an effort. One day we will win again. Good luck Australia, you deserve your place in Eurovision.

I massively disagree on the “little work” statement. I am sure that all countries have worked as hard as they could to present what their work. There are 41 of them in a completion so yes there will be a ranking in the end but that doesn’t take away any of their efforts. Regarding the “already heard somewhere” just google Estonia 2018 and you might be in for a shock. As I’ve said before, I salute AUS staging (especially since they changed from their NF) but I don’t want a precedent to be set where whoever spends the most money… Read more »

I love the song. I can forgive his live vocals because he is dancing…but i can’t forgive the fuego copy.
Song => is about dirty dancing
Video Clip => they dance dirty dancing
Live => Fuego mode on…
Choreographer is the same…girl dancers are the same…red/black background is the same…even the way he enters to sing his song is the same like Foureira’s…come on…you have a nice song and you destroy it like this?

I’m all for the Netherlands. They deserve the win this time. He’s got the voice, lyrics and a beautiful but simple staging. It will have the ‘mainstream appeal,’ whether Switzerland seems to target a certain group. And Australia, I don’t know. It’s a bit of everything, which can be a downfall for them. I don’t get the hype of it, but she has an amazing voice! I think the Netherlands will win. BUT, the contest seems so open! Honestly, I think the Netherlands won the jury vote. Australia also has a very good chance to that. But the televote can… Read more »

The Netherlands are going to win. Australia has amazing visuals and vocals but the song is really mediocre. Definitely top 10 though. . Switzerland and Sweden are great songs but aimed at a specific target group that will not appeal to everyone. Russia has great vocals but the song is simply boring. Italy has a great song, but Mahmood is not strong live. In the end the Netherlands have the total package: a handsome guy with a great song and brilliant vocals. His emotions will come across and appeal to almost all viewers.

I actually think the Netherlands’ performance wasn’t that good although he has a good song. I also think Australia tries to cover up an average song with visual effects and Sweden is overrated as always. Switzerland is too generic for my taste. I’ll be rooting for Iceland, Slovenia and Albania. Dark horses FTW!

Alessandro Leonardo Gauci

Pardon me but even though I like the Swedish and Swiss songs, they are way overrated.
Not to mention the Dutch song which is a boring ballad.

The author of this article seems to misunderstand the meaning of ‘odds’. When Sweden’s odds went from 6/1 to 12/1 they ‘halved’ not ‘doubled’. Also you would describe odds of 25/1 as low, not high.
If someone has odds of 2/1, they have ‘high’ odds (a high chance of winning) if they have odds of 50/1, they have ‘low’ odds (a low chance of winning).

I think Switzerland could do very well with the televote. During Luca’s semi-final performance, every time the chorus dropped the audience in the venue went insane. I don’t think any other act was recieved so loudly, maybe Cyprus and Netherands. Switzerland also got a very late running order position which also supports the thought that Luca did very well with the televotes.

I, for one, love that song and I hope it goes top 5.

I think Switzerland could win the televote. His song and staging stand out among the other pop songs and is easier to hear for someone that watches the show first time as compared to AUS or the Netherlands where people tend to really like but after a couple of times they’ve heard the songs.

I think AUS will be 2nd in juries and 3rd in televote. Regarding Netherlands, I am not too sure – my gut feelings is that he might win but certainly not as easy/with a big difference from the 2nd as the bets make it seem.
