Her calendar is as busy as it could ever be. With a national tour all over Germany scheduled for this summer, Lena doesn’t rest for a moment. But before that, the Eurovision winner had another treat for her fans, as she released the music video for her song “Boundaries” late last week.

The song comes from Lena’s fifth studio album Only Love, L, which was released back in April. The album went on to debut at number two on the German album charts.

“Boundaries” will serve as the theme song for the new X Men: Dark Phoenix movie, which will premiere on June 6th. If you didn’t know this fact before, then you certainly will once you’ve watched the music video. As with all videos of this type, there are plenty of shots from the film throughout the clip.

Lena – “Boundaries” (Official Video)

For Lena’s part, however, she shows a totally different side to herself than in the previous videos for singles “thank you” and “don’t lie to me”. The camera work does a nice job at showing the singer’s facial expressions, helping to bring the emotions across. It’s a visual piece of art from start to finish.

There’s a slightly darker concept to the video, but it doesn’t look out of place by any means. In fact, Lena comes across as a powerful woman who’s in control of what she’s doing. The “Satellite” hit-maker is well aware of her personal boundaries. After all, knowing your own limits widens your perspective to focus on what you’re actually able to do.

“Boundaries” is a reminder to respect one’s personal limits. At the same time, it also compliments personal strengths.

Live session with Tom Walker

Not resting there, Lena has also recently taken the time to record a live session with British singer-songwriter Tom Walker. They performed “Just You And I”, which features on Tom’s debut album What a Time to Be Alive, and hit number three on the UK singles chart earlier this year.

Accompanied just by a piano and guitar, the pair deliver a stunning acoustic version of the song. Their pure vocals blend effortlessly together, particularly in the final chorus when they sing in unison.

Having previously teamed up with Italy’s Marco Mengoni for “Hola (I Say)”, and now performing with Lena, we can’t wait to see which Eurovision star Tom decides to duet with next.

Lena will soon be off on her latest tour. She’ll be hitting fourteen different cities, including a trip over the German border to Zurich and Vienna.

What do you think about Lena’s new music video? Do you like the visual concept behind it? And what are your personal favourites on her new album? Sound off in the the comments section below!
