Following Nathan Trent’s appearance at the grand final of Eurovision 2017, his career has gone from strength to strength. With a leading role in a musical, several high-profile public appearances and a recent move to London to facilitate the recording of new music, Nathan Trent is a star on the rise. The loyalty from his many international fans (fondly referred to as “Trentsetters”) is added proof of his enduring and devoted fandom.

And now, the Austrian singer is kicking off summer 2019 with two hot new singles – “Over You” and “I Got Me”.

For the first of these, Nathan re-teamed up with Austrian producer J-MOX. Their previous collaboration, “Secrets”, sparked a few more ideas, and led to a reunion on this radio-pop dance track. Borrowing from Nathan’s love for his new adopted city London, “Over You” fuses Nathan’s songwriting with J-MOX’s music production whilst attempting to cater for the UK radio market.

The music video for the song was shot in central London. Although Nathan and J-MOX are noticeably absent for most of the video, you can catch a quick glimpse of them at the end as they travel down the escalators.

J-MOX & Nathan Trent – “Over You”

Nathan’s most recent track, “I Got Me“, takes on a much deeper tone. This is a personal track that details Nathan’s move out of Austria.

Inspired by the emotional battles and mental health challenges that people face over self-esteem issues, Nathan wants you to learn to love and accept yourself the way you are. He remains positive during his trials, and it works! You want to be a true Trentsetter? The message here is simple: start with yourself.

The accompanying music video takes Nathan to Brighton Pier, at the heart of the popular UK seaside town.

Nathan Trent – “I Got Me”

Speaking exclusively to wiwibloggs, Nathan explains:

“I Got Me” is an anthem of self-acceptance, where the lyrics transmit a feeling of confidence in a climate of uncertainties. This song has a pretty clear message – it is about self-celebration and self-respect.  It describes in some detail the different moods I’ve been through in the past year. With this I want to raise awareness of how important it is to accept your current state of mind and to just love yourself. Some may say that it sounds cheesy, but I know that it is my truth.

I don‘t get it. What does the song mean to him personally? That he‘s out of the closet?

Over You sounds exactly how I feel about Nathan Trent. Each new track from him is fast food worth zero points at Eurovision.
