She’s the teenager from Melbourne who stole our hearts in February. Leea Nanos competed in Eurovision: Australia Decides with her song “Set Me Free” and marked her arrival on the Australian music scene. Her involvement with Eurovision didn’t end there — she has now covered Duncan Laurence’s “Arcade”, the Eurovision 2019 winning song.

“Arcade” — Leea Nanos

Leea’s cover of “Arcade” starts from the second verse and continues through to the end of the song. Our girl glows in front of a skyline as she nails every note of the winning song of Eurovision 2019. “Arcade” touches similar subject matter to “Set Me Free”, which Leea wrote about someone she had a crush on but the feelings weren’t mutual. Leea also shared a clip of her cover on Instagram.

Leea Nanos at Eurovision: Australia Decides

Leea submitted her song “Set Me Free” to SBS for the Australian national final. She intended the song to be matched with another, more established artist. Impressed with what they heard, the team asked Leea to sing “Set Me Free” herself.

Competing alongside big names in the Australian music industry — including drag queen Courtney Act and indie pop band Sheppard — did not faze Leea. Despite being a newcomer to the game, she put on a strong performance and impressed Eurovision fans in Australia and around the world. While she may have finished ninth, Leea proved that she was worthy of her spot amongst the talented artists competing against her. We are certain that “Set Me Free” is only the start of what promises to be an amazing musical career.

What do you think of Leea’s cover of “Arcade”? Are you listening to any other Eurovision 2019 covers? Do you want to see more music from Leea Nanos? Let us know in the comments below.
