They’re the popalicious girl group who have more line-up changes than Conchita has wigs. Dolly Style has confirmed that Mikaela Samuelsson — who plays the pink-haired Molly — has left the group after four years.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed in an Instagram post, with a message from Molly in both Swedish and English.
Molly thanked her fans and wrote, “Now I have been part of Dolly Style for four years and have experienced absolutely amazing things, but now I feel super excited on new projects! So therefore the Circus Tour becomes my last tour as Molly in Dolly Style!”
Dolly Style are currently touring Sweden as part of their Circus Tour. The tour ends in Lindköping on 15 September. It is not known whether Mikaela will remain part of the group until that final date.
The J-pop- and K-pop-inspired group are known for their frequent line-up changes, with some estimating that Dolly Style will be on track to go through more band members than legendary English post-punk group The Fall.
Since Dolly Style began in 2014, there have been two blue-haired Hollys (Alexandra and Vilma) and two pink-haired Mollys (Carolina and Mikaela). But it’s the FOUR Pollys that have led some fans to wonder if the purple wig is cursed.
Aside from changing group members, Dolly Style are also known for their music.
The group have competed at Melodifestivalen three times, including their Melfest 2019 entry “Habibi”. The song was their best received Melodifestivalen entry, with many expecting it would be Dolly Style’s time to go direct to the grand final.
Sadly “Habibi” was Dolly Style’s worst placed Melfest entry, not making it out of the semi-finals. However, “Habibi” went on to place No.8 in the Swedish singles chart and was certified Gold.

Why on earth would anyone take the time to bother about pop groups like these? Haven’t we all learned they aren’t meant to last? Don’t we know that they don’t have anything relevant to say musically? Who cares…
