He achieved the best Swiss result at the contest since 1993 and has already won two Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. And now Luca Hänni has added even more accolades to his resume by snagging top honours in the “International” category at the Swiss Influencer Awards”. While picking up his prize, Luca also received the platinum certificate for his Eurovision song “She Got Me”.
The first ever Swiss Influencer Awards took place last Thursday in Zurich. Influencers in ten categories were awarded across categories like sport and beauty (and everything in between). The highlight and last category of the evening was the award for the “International” Influencer. The winners were chosen by the “SIA Expert Circle”.
And it went to Luca, who has gained lots of followers on social media during and after Eurovision. On Instagram alone he gained 60,000 followers within a day of his final performance. He now has roughly 290,000.
Luca was thankful and full of joy. In his acceptance speech, he spoke about his new fans from all over the world: “The best feeling is to make music beyond borders. That’s what I’m able to do and I’m extremely looking forward to all of the trips, performances in front of new audiences and many happy faces.”
“She Got Me” goes platinum
While Luca was on stage, the hosts Annina Frey und Claudia Lässer had a huge surprise for him. Pascal Künzi went on stage and had the platinum certificate for “She Got Me” in his hands. Luca was beyond happy and couldn’t believe what he has achieved.
“She Got Me” climbed download charts across Europe following Eurovision, but his home country remains his most successful market. The song occupied the top of the charts for three weeks and currently sits in second position. “She Got Me” isn’t just a download hit. It is also in the top 10 of the Swiss Airplay Charts, having peaked at number four.
This is Luca’s first platinum award ever. His debut single “Don’t Think About Me” and debut album “My Name Is Luca” received the gold certificate in 2012. This makes “She Got Me” the biggest hit of his career.
Do you think that Luca deserves this award? Do you like “She Got Me”? Tell us in the comments below!
i just can’t with the swiss certifications, they award plaques but they don’t officiailize it on their website ugh
Best Swiss result since the early 1990s is some achievement. Well done!!
He performs in Greece’s MAD show tonight, and made an appearance yesterday in a Greek TV (though playback).
lol
„She got me“ war mehrere Wochen auf 1 in den Schweizer Charts. Luca kann stolz auf sich sein!
Good for him! I hope there’s longevity in his career going forward with lots more bops. And it would be nice to see Eurovision back in Switzerland one day too.
And they say Eurovision can’t help your career!
He also performed at Zurich Pride (has a great Video on his Insta) and will be in Athens and Madrid soon too!
That is a nice topic given the fact that it’s my birthday today, so I can make party with Luca (at the weekend, no big party tonight, tomorrow is university 😀 ).
@KESC: Now you can say I am 5 years older than Eliot 😀
Happy Birthday! Even worse.. 😀
“Maybe, but actually, it doesn’t really matter a lot. Sorry, don’t remember, oops, I forgot” 😀
(The person who can guess the National Final Song from Germany that contains these lyrics, gets an ice-cream XD)
Okay: the solution is “Maybe” by Lena in her own National Final 2011, where she performed 12 songs and the public chose “Taken By A Stranger” 😀
The class of 2019 might be on track to have the most success internationally overall of any Eurovision cohort
He totally deserves every success!! and being a top influencer is really cool! so happy for him
