Weren’t the 2010s grand? We think so too, and that’s why our Wiwi Jury have come out of their off-season hibernation to reminisce over our favourites of the decade. Whilst we would love to review all 408 songs that have competed in the decade (no, really, four hundred and eight!), to save our heads from sheer overload of glitter and gimmicks, we’re reviewing the top three from each year. Welcome to the Wiwi Jury of the 2010s!

It’s crazy to think we won’t be reviewing any Belgian or Greek tracks for this, nor France who have been bookies favourites twice in this time (oh hey there, 2011 and 2016!), but we do have many Italian masterpieces, as well as not one, but TWO songs by a certain Mr Lazarev from Russia to look at!

Our jury consists of 24 jurors who hail from Australia, the Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Lithuania, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden, the UK, the United States and Venezuela. We are truly international, y’all!

Each juror assesses each song independently and then awards each song a score from 0 to 10. The highest and lowest scores are then dropped to determine the Wiwi Jury average.

Reviews were made in July 2019 and are based on the live performances at the contest in the Eurovision grand finals — no studio cuts.

Thanks Wiwibloggs for doing these rankings. It is interesting to see how y’all ranked songs past 2012 (as 2012 was the first year of the Wiwi jury) Although, I would like to know how some of y’all ranked all the songs in 2010 and 2011. However, Beautiful Mess and Gravity are criminally underrated in this ranking. They should’ve at least been in the top 15-20. My (personal) Top 30 (subject to change): 1. Netherlands 2019 2. Denmark 2013 3. Ukraine 2013 4. Bulgaria 2017 5. Turkey 2010 6. Romania 2010 7. Italy 2019 8. Netherlands 2014 9. Germany 2010 10.… Read more »

The song title for Russia 2016 needs to be “You are the only one’, not ‘Scream. Also, I am curious as to how Bulgaria 2017 and Ukraine 2013 got a lower ranking than many songs whose ranking may be ‘overrated’. (I also believe that ‘Gravity’ is a better song than ‘1944’. I know, controversial opinion) B2017 and U2013 are some of my all-time favourites in the whole of ESC, in terms of song and staging. Lastly, to this day I am still baffled as to how Italy 2011 ranked so high. I’m aware that it was the juries that ranked… Read more »
