Australia Zero Gravity Kate Miller Heidke Eurovision 2019

Back in May, Kate Miller-Heidke soared above the earth and Australia flew up the leaderboard. The staging of “Zero Gravity” was unique and will be remembered for many years to come. We all know what happened on top of the earth but now we finally know what happened under the skirt. Australian comedians Jenna & Vic have now revealed “The Untold Eurovision Story”.

About Jenna & Vic

Jenna Owen and Victoria Zerbst are comedians who have appeared on a number of segments on The Feed. The duo from Freudian Nip have also produced comedy content for Junkee Media and The Chaser. In this segment, Jenna & Vic are the biggest names in Australian music and dream of representing Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest.

The segment aired on The Feed, a program on SBS, the Australian Eurovision broadcaster. Presented by Australian television personality Ray Martin, the segment tells the tale of Jenna & Vic’s unsuccessful Eurovision bid.

We are first treated to some information about the duo. They are presented as “darlings of the Australian music industry”, with Australian music icons such as Murray Cook and Shannon Noll showering the duo with praise. The duo have written their own song called “Clip-Clop”, have an unconventional formula for making music and are at the summit of the industry. Artists such as Kylie Minogue are lining up to tour with Jenna & Vic. Their popularity is international, reaching far flung places like Uzbekistan, where the duo were invited to perform at President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s birthday party. All have been turned down, with the girls only interested in one thing — Eurovision.

Netflix is making a Eurovision comedy starring Pierce Brosnan. It can't beat this doco about the true story behind this year's competition.

Our goddess Kate Miller-Heidke then comes in to dish some dirt. She states that “Jenna & Vic were a shoo-in to represent Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest. I was scared of them to be honest. But on the day, they weren’t there. And I was.” The Australia Decides scoreboard also shows Jenna & Vic disqualified with their song “Clip-Clop” as Kate is declared the winner.

As the story unfolds, we find out that Jenna & Vic were dressed in Velcro for their performance. Before they could go on stage, they hugged each other and fell, becoming stuck to one another on their prop.

The mighty have fallen, with the girls losing their minds in the aftermath of Australia Decides. Naturally, they also decide to sabotage Kate Miller-Heidke at Eurovision to get their revenge. They travel to Tel Aviv and go backstage at Eurovision, planning to burn Kate’s dress. Eventually, they decide that they should be supporting Kate instead.

Ray Martin fittingly concludes, “Looking at that Eurovision stage, you might be convinced that just one southern star shone that night but as you and I now know, there were really three.”

What do you think of the comedy segment? Let us know in the comments below.

– Do you know which are the neighbors of Soviet Union?
Answer : Whoever Soviet Union wants.
The same now. Europe is neighbor with anybody it wants.

I also don’t understand why some guys desperately want Eurovision to get bigger all the time (want Luxembourg, Kaz, other countries to join). 40-45 countries participating is just enough.

This was hilarious, thank you for sharing! “I like to whisper on the mic. I like to talk normally on the mic. Whisper. Normal. Whisper. Normal.” 😀 😀 😀
And it’s amazing that Kate is so down-to-earth to participate in this fun 😀 Adore her so much!!!
Funfact: Velcro is also mentioned in Kate’s fun song “I’m Growing A Beard Downstairs For Christmas” 😀

Only 9th place is such a shame for this unbelievable performance. Europe, you should be ashamed of yourself, she deserved MUCH more.

Actually, she came 6th with juries and 7th with the televote, she just didn’t benefit of the combined results.

Because juries and televote mostly “agreed” this year so she didn’t benefit as much as she could have from doing consistently well with the juries and the televote. There’s “only” a 80 points gap between third- and ninth place, so ending up as the last pearl on the string was a bit unlucky. I think this entry should’ve at least reached a 6th- or 7th place, it sounds better for the merit of this entry.
