Aly Ryan is a name that Eurovision fans have not forgotten easily. The fan-favourite going into Germany’s Unser Lied fĂĽr Israel earlier this year, the singer ended up in fourth place after the voting. But, she’s certainly not letting the result stop her and has released four singles in the following months to keep her new fans satisfied. The latest of these sees her teaming up with Ohio-based rapper Doobie on “We’re A F***in Mess”.

The new song is a chilled summer track with great trip-hop instrumentals that are easy to vibe to. Starting off with a somewhat melancholic vibe, it builds up to a low-tempo but danceable hook.

Aly Ryan – “We’re A F***in Mess” (feat. Doobie)

This new release sees Ryan collaborating with rapper Doobie, who hails from Columbus, Ohio. The rap star enters the song about half-way through, with a short but strong rap verse.

The track is a mix of indie-pop and rap. It combines two contrasting worlds into one wonderful piece. Lyrically, the song shows true emotion and talks about a deep feeling of love between two people, presenting it as a sickness, or an obsession.

Following on from the certified banger that was her national final entry “Wear Your Love”, Ryan subsequently released “Slow & Easy“. This saw her switch to a slower pop-styling, which continues into this latest track.

Aly Ryan and Doobie have been building up to the song’s release for the past few weeks. Both singers’ social media accounts were filled to the brink with pre-release hype. Finally, Ryan distributed the song on YouTube, Spotify, as well as various other streaming services, for us all to listen to.

Last week, Doobie took to Facebook to announce that his new album is ready. Perhaps we could see these two teaming up on more tracks in the future.

What do you make of Aly Ryan’s latest track? Is it a F***in mess or a beautiful mess? Do you want more collaborations between Aly and Doobie? Let us know in the comments below.

Unrelated, but Bassa Sababa has been announced as a song on Just Dance 2020. This means she has been on the last two Just Dance games. So happy 🙂

I just read the song title. Is that a reference to the NDR Eurovision delegation responsible for the German national finals? Sounds so appropriate. 🙂
