What’s better than one Eurovision star releasing a new song? Two Eurovision stars who are releasing a new song together. Eurovision 2017 runner-up Kristian Kostov and Junior Eurovision 2018 champion Roxie (aka Roksana Węgiel) both feature on “Live It Up”, the new song from producer B-OK.

B-OK may not be an instantly recognisable name. But, Eurovision fans will have definitely listened to some of the songs this producer has written for other artists.

That’s because B-OK is in fact the new stage name of Borislav Milanov. The Bulgarian songwriter has produced a number of previous Eurovision entries, including Poli Genova’s “If Love Was A Crime”, “Bones” for Equinox and Michela’s “Chameleon”.

B-OK – “Live It Up” (feat. Kristian Kostov and Roxie)

The golden combination of Kristian and Roxie naturally meant that expectations for “Live It Up” were high. However, they’ve certainly met the bar that was set for them. The final result is a bop sure to get your feet tapping along.

“Live It Up” is a song about enjoying your life, no matter what people say or think about you. The beat of the track fits perfectly with this message – it’s cheerful. The overall vibe is summery, happy and very catchy.

Kristian and Roxie’s voices blend beautifully together. In combination with the beat and lyrics, their vocals make the track a real banger. After listening to this song, you’ll definitely be ready to live it up!

Kristian Kostov and Roxie at Eurovision and beyond

Kristian Kostov represented Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017 with his song “Beautiful Mess”. He finished in second place, achieving Bulgaria’s highest position ever. Following the contest, Kristian used his talent to create new music, and his EP Shower Thoughts was released last summer.

At the beginning of this year, Kristian participated in the largest singing competition in China, Singer 2019. Whilst out in China, he performed “Live It Up” for the first time with Taiwanese singer Tifa Chen. This version of the song featured on his EP Prologue, which was released in China at the same time. As a result of all these appearances, Kristian has built up a huge fan base over the years, known as #TeamKris.

Roxie is again no stranger to many Eurofans after she represented Poland at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2018. She went on to win with her song “Anyone I Want to Be”, becoming the first Polish entrant to ever win the contest. In June, her first album, Roksana Węgiel, was released. Roxie’s songs have picked up a lot of streams and also climbed up the Polish charts.

Lyrics: B-OK – “Live it up” (feat. Kristian Kostov and Roxie)

We keep our eyes on the headlights
Got your hand and it feels right
To drive away in a runaway car
Like a ride on the wild side
You’re the fuel when I’m run down
Don’t be scared you just let them talk

And we’ve been over our heads
With what we got
They say get over yourselves
But we can’t stop
They live a thousand lies
The truth is ours
So baby they’ll never they’ll never know oh oh

You and I, we were made to
Live it up, live it up
This time we’ll never
Give it up, give it up
And I don’t know why but you
Taking me high it’s true
That you and I, we were made to
Live it up, live it up
Live it up, live it up

Get lost in the midnight air
So good when you’re right here
Don’t wanna be anywhere else right now
Wanna ride with you all day
I know it’s gonna B-OK
When the world gets way too loud

And we’ve been over our heads
With what we got
They say get over yourselves
But we can’t stop
They live a thousand lies
The truth is ours
So baby they’ll never they’ll never know oh oh

You and I, we were made to
Live it up, live it up
This time we’ll never
Give it up, give it up
And I don’t know why but you
Taking me high it’s true
That you and I, we were made to
Live it up, Live it up
Live it up, Live it up

You and I, we were made to
Live it up live it up
This time we’ll never
Give it up, give it up
And I don’t know why but you
Taking me high it’s true
That you and I, we were made to
Live it up, Live it up
Live it up, Live it up

Big fan of Kristian but this is not one of his better post-Eurovision efforts.

Roksana might get more successful abroad than any ESC contestant from Poland.

I like Kristian, but honestly, he literally looks like a KPOP star now. Not that I complain, but Idk I feel like he is trying hard to look like that.

Kristian is definitely trying too hard to copy kpop styles which imo comes across as a bit cringe, however me and him both are from countries that restrict freedom of expression so I have to respect him for being himself

he loves kpop + clearly has a weak personality which means he’s bound to copying his idols’ style, who in their turn have no personality as kpop stars are all industry plants. a reverse warholian expedition

It does not really matter what Kristian’s style is. He is young and will probably go through many more phases. What actually matters is his gorgeous voice.

Sad but true. Even if KPop is booming, it’s more because of the tons of glam and excessive marketing. Most of the compositions were outsourced from European or American composers and was rewritten in Korean, so…

He is from a rich Moscow family so he can express himself much more freely than the average Russian boy. Anybody else in Russia would probably be verbally or physically attacked for styling themselves like that, walking around Vilnius (even when Lithuania is seen as a much more accepting country, it isn’t) I would be too afraid of styling myself like that. Look at his recent Instagram, he’s in America now and he’s acting much more freely than he does in Moscow.
