With his song “She Got Me”, Luca Hänni made it all the way to fourth place in the Eurovision grand final. That was the best Swiss result at the Eurovision Song Contest since 1993. But Luca wasn’t just about the work. He also enjoyed his time in Tel Aviv, calling it “the best experience of my career”. That positivity has also propelled him to win two Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and his Eurovision song “She Got Me” received a platinum certificate. Don’t stop, won’t stop!
And while “She Got Me” has been a huge success and has garnered over 23 million streams on Spotify, it’s only just the beginning. Luca proved the point on Friday with the release of “Bella Bella”, another upbeat number with plenty of spice layered over a dance beat. “Bella Bella” is a nice continuation of “She Got Me” — it has the same authentic near Eastern sound and is beyond catchy. Within a day of its release it has already hit #1 in Switzerland.
Some of you may have heard it over the summer — Luca gifted it to select fans at live performances around Europe, including Rainbow Weekend in Stockholm.
On the day of the song’s release, wiwiblogger William happened to be visiting with Luca’s co-writers Laurell Barker and Frazer Mac in London. The Canadians were also behind “She Got Me”, and their close relationship with Luca helped them find the key inspiration for the song — Luca’s lucky lady!
As Laurell said: “We can just tell they are super in love. Luca has such a romantic presence about him, and we wanted to write a song that was a really fun follow-up to ‘She Got Me’. It’s really about this person to everybody that makes you think about them on repeat.”
The result is fun and cheeky — and proof that Luca has totally succumbed to this woman’s charm. As he sings: “I come running when you call in the mood, eh, ‘Cause those peaches ah so juicy, juicy, Drop anything for that one taste of sushi.”

I love the song and the instrumental part but some parts of the lyrics are pretty cringe-worthy (i.e., I need you like panda needs bamboo? What?!)

I’ll just say that his previous songs like Powder matched much better his character than his eurovision entry or this new one…

No I would say that would be Mahmood in terms of post ESC success (although Duncan is as well- overall the class of 2019 are doing quite well) although Luca does have the Eleni sound
this song is about bella goth
For a slutpreciation song (yes, that exact term) this is another good song. I’m wishing he didn’t stick to slutpreciation songs too much and bring something a bit softer next time (well, except if he wants that to be his brand).
As with She Got Me, this is a typical, somewhat-catchy pop song with similarly nonsensical and cringy lyrics. Luca’s charisma is the only thing that carries this through. Although, I’m glad that Luca has gained popularity and success in his musical career, this is a song I will not be listening to again.
