At the end of 2016 the world learned that Sergey Lazarev was the proud father of a little boy named Nikita. Now, as we enter the home stretch of 2019, the Russian icon has revealed that Nikita has a one-year-old sister named Anya.
The revelation came during a two-part edition of “The Secret to a Million”, a popular and provocative chat show hosted by Lera Kudryavtseva. As the name suggests, celebrities confront rumours and reveal sometimes earth-shattering secrets.
Writing on Instagram on Sunday, Sergey teased the programme as one of the most candid of his entire life. His honesty and openness stems partly from the fact he was in a four-year relationship with host Lera starting in 2008.
He wrote:
“This is perhaps the hardest and most emotional interview of my life. And the most frank … maybe even too much … probably because Lera was sitting opposite me — a person close to me and sometimes there was a feeling that no one heard us and we talked together, and I was only sharing with her.”
“I know one thing: I’m unlikely to want to revisit many of the topics that I touched on in this program. I put all the dots on the ‘i’s. Look carefully and listen. I have nothing to add.”
Following the interview, Sergey shared a family photo on Insta. The caption of this second post made it clear just how much lighter he felt without the burden of carrying a secret.
“My suns! My unconditional love!” he wrote. “Now I can boldly and loudly shout to the whole world — Nikitushka, Anyutka, I love you very much!!! My kids!”
“P.S. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who listened to me today in ‘The Secret to a Million’ program, to everyone who lived with me everything that I talked about, to everyone who empathized with my family’s tragedies, and rejoiced in my family’s joys.
“Thank you for the people who are able to enjoy someone else’s happiness, many times more than negatively… Special thanks to Lera Kudryavtseva, and to the entire team of ‘The Secret for a Million’ program, which prepared this emotional program for release!”
“And to the ill-wishers…I want to say, Do not judge lest you be judged! Goodness and peace to all of you! I love you!!!”
The same biological mother
During the show, Sergey told Lera that he was able to hide his daughter from the public. But he understood that this could not last forever.
“Nikita is not my only child,” he said. “I always wanted a big family and always knew that I would have more children. I used to have one sun, but now I have two suns. Now I am even more enthusiastic and inspired. Almost no one knows this. Once again, I decided to do it secretly. I wanted everything to be calm. I want to enjoy life, enjoy family. I have two children. I have a daughter.”
As Vokrug reports, the children have the same biological mother, but were delivered via different surrogates.
“They have 100 percent affinity,” he said. “Anya is a copy of Nikita. She’s just like a twin.”
“[My] mom and I admire how Nikita is a good big brother. How he cares for her, how he teaches her….I thought that there would be jealously. Here I’ve behaved correctly. I never paid attention to only one child.”
Apparently Nikita accompanied Sergey to the hospital to pick up his baby sister.

In December 2016, a Russian tabloid published photos of Sergey Lazarev and his son Nikita outside of a church.
When L!FE approached Sergey about the photographs on the telephone, he responded: “This is my private life, I do not want to make it public” before ending the call.
With the cat out of the bag, Sergey took to Instagram to clarify his reasons for keeping details of his son — named Nikita — a secret. He wrote:
“Public life is always seen through a magnifying glass, sparking a lot of conversations, rumours, discussions, often negative emotions. Even for adults and experienced people, this kind of attention is a difficult test, especially for a small child.”
The forced revelation ultimately proved to be a beautiful thing, raising awareness about the joys of surrogacy and allowing Sergey to lead a more open life with his family.
Sergey has subsequently featured Nikita in the music video for his single “Tak Krasivo” (So Beautiful). But his love for his only son cuts even deeper.
In February 2017, Sergey Lazarev tattooed Nikita’s initial on the left side of his neck (just below his ear) The following year, the N Tour which spanned 170 dates all over Russia, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Lithuania and Georgia was a celebration of his son Nikita, and his legacy as an entertainer.

This only confirms that he is gay, but that is not such big of an issue. And he is not forced to tell that to everyone, if he doesn’t want to. If he didn’t tell us about two children, it isn’t unlikely that he also didn’t tell us about a marriage. A lot of stars do it. Furthermore your claim that “this only confirms that he is gay” is backed up by nothing, and then you’re going on about mafia money? What???
In the article it says that he used a the same egg donor and different surragate mothers. Unless he is married or partnered with a woman with fertility issues (which I doubt very much because the couple could have kept this a secret) there is no reason why he would go through a surragacy journey alone if he could have become a father through biological means. Correction: In Russia a single man can become father through aurragacy. But he cannot reveal his sexual orientation nor be married to another men. Apparently in Ukraine it is forbidden for single men. My argument still holds though.

Sergei is gay. He was married to a guy and both children were born under his husband. A year ago, Sergei betrayed his husband and lives with his lover. His foarmer husband is forbidden to see children. Ugly story.

Why does everyone think he’s gay? He has a common-law wife. They were married in the United States. That is why they have used surrogacy is understandable. They are both public people, their lives are constantly interfered with by different rumors, so they want peace of mind, besides the woman was married to another when their son and daughter were born, she has problems with conception and is undergoing treatment now, they do not want to be judged. I know that this is probably pretty late, but I don’t understand the flood of “Sergey needs to come out now” responses that this is getting, and the constant gay-speculation that I see everywhere around Sergey. It would surprise me if Sergey wasn’t gay. And there is nothing wrong with being gay. It is sad that Sergey has to go to such lengths to hide his sexuality . But in a homophobic country as Russia I can imagine he wants to protect his career. But it is still sad that it is necessary to stage such a theatre.
I wouldn’t say Russia is a homophobic country, not anymore at least. For example, I study in Saint-petersburg State University, and our teacher often touches some gay-connected topics, and our reaction is totally fine. We have a confirmed gay-student there, and I haven’t heard of a single case of someone violating him. Lots of young people are very tolerant when it comes to one’s sexuality, and even on TV I haven’t heard anyone violating LGBT-community for a very long time. While I’m very happy for him and his children, I am also saddened by the fact that Sergey and many other artists like Sergey in Russia, have to walk a on a very thin ice to maintain their careers while being LGBT artists.

Anti-gay sentiment is still quite strong in Russia; there was a law passed in 2013 that criminalized the distribution of materials to minors in support of “non-traditional sexual relationships”. Vigilante abductions, torture, and execution is allowed and common (especially in Chechnya, where the legalization of homosexuality has been ignored, even though it’s been legal in Russia since the 1990s), and a patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church called same-sex marriage a “…very dangerous sign of the Apocalypse.” If Sergey came out as gay in Russia, it would essentially be career suicide for him. No, that law literally means “Under 18’s aren’t allowed to know about the gay”. Any film/show with a same sex couple it rated 18+, Pride flags are not allowed to be displayed in public (I think). It’s like a section 28 that isn’t just limited to schools.
So? Say what you want, but if LGBT doesn’t leave people under 18 alone, this will be the downfall of LGBT in any country. Even your country (whatever that is). People think what are not allowed to say.

There is no concept of helping the gay youth in countries like Russia if you are freely expressing your homosexuality to the public.
I could be wrong but just because he used a surrogate does not mean he is gay. If a woman used a sperm donor to have children no one would be calling her a lesbian. No one would care. There is nothing wrong with being gay but don’t jump to conclusions unless you have all of the answers. All I have to say is congrats on the baby girl and his kids are cute!
