In 2012, she was the breakout star of Eurovision who went on to lift the trophy in Baku. And ever since, Loreen has constantly explored new musical directions. Now, she’s partnering up with Nordic fashion chain Ellos to deliver a beautiful rendition of “Walk With Me”.
The track is originally sung by Julia Jonas, a Swedish singer-songwriter. Her version was initially published in May earlier this year.
Loreen has picked up the track for the latest Ellos fall campaign. In addition to the campaign shoot, they’ve also created a music video for the song.
Anna Westlund, Creative Director at Ellos, stated that the company is “so proud that an icon and a world artist like Loreen is the first to interpret Ellos’ song “Walk With Me””.
Furthermore, she adds that Loreen “both shares and represents Ellos’ values of diversity and all women’s right to manifest their own expression, and she has really managed to convey that in her interpretation”.
“Walk With Me” is all about diversity and inclusion. It’s a call for everyone to embrace our differences and how to learn from each other to ultimately become stronger. Adding her own texture to this track, Loreen embraces the message that everyone should be part of our society.
Loreen also spoke herself of why she got behind the message of this particular campaign: “In the current political climate around the world, it is especially important to strengthen diversity and everyone’s place in our society”.
Loreen – “Walk With Me”
Sonically, Loreen’s interpretation of the song is impressive, and she truly turns the track into her own. Her vocals in particular match perfectly with the instrumentation.
A slow build-up to begin with, the melody continues to grow as the song progresses. There’s an instrumental break after the first chorus where more electronic elements come into play. The final minute of the song is especially strong, with both the production and Loreen’s vocal delivery reaching new heights.
The original version by Julia Jonas is much more laid-back and creates a totally different aura. But, both versions still complement each other very well.

Undoubtedly, Loreen puts her own twist on the track. In fact, the cover fits in well with much of the Swedish star’s back catalogue and could have easily featured as an album track on her most recent LP Ride.
