Renaida Braun, the always-smiley singer who gave us “All the Feels” at Melodifestivalen 2018, has revealed that she’s battling cancer.
Speaking on Instagram, she said: “It’s been a long time since I was here on Instagram, and I’ll tell you why. It’s because I got sick. I have cancer. Which sucks. So now you know.”
She elaborated on the situation in the caption.
“Never thought I as a 22-year-old would write that I’ve got cancer, but I have. This is very tough, but I’m gonna f*cking make it. Now you know – take care of yourselves.”
Her decision to go public has led to an outpouring of support.
Writing on Renaida’s Insta post, Melodifestivalen winner and Eurovision alum Jessica Andersson said: “All love to you! You are in my thoughts.”
Noted choreographer and stage director Sacha Jean-Baptise said: “Love from my heart. We are so many that are here with you.”
Mariette said: “You’re the strongest. Thinking of you.”
Nöjesbladet reached out to Christina Bredberg, Renaida’s press contact at Sony Music.
“Renaida has said what she wants on her Instagram and does not want to give any further comments,” she told the paper. “Now she and her family want to be left alone. Hope you respect it!”

As someone who lost her mom, grandparents and even childhood dog to cancer, I hope you kick its arse to the nearest gutter, gir.
My sincere condolences. May they rest in peace.
All my dogs died of cancer or kidney problems. These are the health problems of pets who are very well taken care of. If they die of something (like all of us) it’s either cancer or kidney. Pure souls loving and loved, but unfortunately we all die of something.
