On the road towards Rotterdam 2020, the question that still remains open is who will host Eurovision. Rumours say that all will be revealed in December. For now we all just have to hope that our favorites are in it. Earlier in October, we asked you who you’d like to guide proceedings. After counting more than 10,000 votes, we can now reveal your winners.
Your top 3 choices to host the semifinals and finals in Rotterdam are:

Özcan Akyol
Özcan Akyol said on Twitter he isn’t interested in hosting, but he definitely wanted to win this poll. He asked his fans to troll us so he could take the crown — and he did! Our congratulations to Özcan. Perhaps the poll results will convince him to take the job after all, as we still think he would do a great job!

NikkieTutorials
NikkieTutorials made it clear that she is interested in the gig shortly after Duncan Laurence’s win. She continued to let it be known on social media. This led to a discussion with Dutch Mr. Eurovision Cornald Maas. Cornald Maas, who previously expressed his annoyance about media celebrities who, in his words, had “never shown interest in Eurovision” but were now pushing themselves forward. Nevertheless, NikkieTutorials is popular among Eurovision fans to secure a spot as a host.

Chantal Janzen
Chantal Janzen is among the rumoured possible candidates among Dutch ESC fans. However, in a recent interview with Aran Bade of RTL Boulevard, Chantal said she had not been approached. She believes it to be a “party for the NPO”, ruling out presenters from other broadcasters. Chantal is not a part of the NPO broadcaster group (she works for broadcaster RTL4). Nevertheless, she still hopes she has a chance. In interviews she has stated that she will probably take the job, if NPO asks her. In our poll she came third, so fans definitely seem interested.

Game Of Thrones star Carice Van Houten shows no interest in the job, and she laughed at the suggestion on social media. But she was able to collect quite a few votes anyway. She came fourth with our readers.

Surprisingly Rozemagrijn Moggré came in last in the poll. She hosted the Rotterdam2020 press conference (with Sietse Bakker, the mayor of Rotterdam and other guests).
Other rumoured names include Dionne Stax and Eva Jinek. Eva has expressed her interest in hosting the event in multiple interviews and shows. However, Eva recently switched broadcasters, which perhaps lowers her chances. She has been with NPO (the broadcaster organizing Eurovision in the Netherlands) for several years. But in September of this year she announced she was moving to broadcaster RTL. She finished fifth in our poll.
Dionne Stax is also mentioned a lot for the hosting job, but she only made it to 10th place in the poll. She recently presented the Gouden Televizier-Ring Gala (Dutch television awards gala) for the first time. Dutch media saw it as a test to see if she was able to host a huge event.

Okay no hate to beauty gurus or such, but can we keep beauty influencers out of this please. I love Nikki she’s amazing , but as far as hosting I would rather have someone else. Still if she’s chosen to host , I think she’ll do a great job !
Surely none of those three listed in the poll are actually going to host Eurovision.
There’s really no need for 3 hosts. Why can’t we go back to the days of having a man and a woman presenting? Or just one person on their own (Petra Mede made a good job of that).

That sounds like a really good mix: actor with internationally recognizable face + experienced television communicator + experienced music entertainer with ESC past
Edsilia has been one of my favorites to do it for a while. She has hosting experience, lots of genuine enthusiasm, and solid English skills. She’s always so peppy when she shows up to give the Dutch points as well! (And defending Trijntje’s original outfit too!).
Don’t know the other two, but if the Dutch like the idea, so do I.
I hope they would be better than this year’s hosts, way too many awkward moments with this year’s hosts.
