Ever since guiding Czech Republic to its best ever result at Eurovision, Mikolas Josef has gone from strength to strength. His follow up single “Me Gusta” won the OGAE Video Contest and placed second in Team Wiwi’s Top Tracks of 2018. He then flew us first class from Prague to “Abu Dhabi” and now the next leg of his journey takes us to “Colorado”.

“Colorado” packs serious western vibes as Mikolas sings about racing through the state with his special lady. He wants to run away with her and live life while they’re “young and free”. Thematically, “Colorado” is a perfect fit in Mikolas’ discography, feeling like the ideal continuation to “Abu Dhabi”. Mikolas continues his global adventure with his lover and we also want some tickets to wherever they’re going next.
Musically, the evolution is apparent — his post-Eurovision singles have all had unique sounds. Nonetheless, Mikolas does what he does best, nailing slick choreography and oozing major sex appeal. Eurovision’s Next Top Male Model knows what he wants and he will cross any Colorado desert to get it.
The music video also complements the song flawlessly, bringing the western vibes to life. Our deadly duo blaze down a highway, dance through the desert and even find time to hang out in a laundromat in the Centennial State. The product is laced with all shades of Americana, culminating with a group of gospel singers joining Mikolas in the desert.
The strength of “Colorado” lies in its authenticity. It feels very true to what we expect from Mikolas and the whole package is executed smoothly. Between releasing new music and underwear modelling, we don’t know how he has the time to jet off around the world.

We are so proud of him here in Czech Republic. In my opinion Colorado is better than Acapella. I love Colorado and especially the gospel in the end. And I think he sings higher than in previous songs. I’m looking forward to be at his concert in Prague on 16.12. 😉
