After more than a month of shows and spectacular performances from dozens of candidates, Georgian Idol will reach its climax tonight, 31 December, at 18:00 CET. The public will decide who will represent Georgia in Rotterdam for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020.
Barbara Samkharadze, Mariam Gogiberidze, Tamar Kakalashvili and Tornike Kipiani are the final four acts.
Tamar Kakalashvili is your favourite to win Georgian Idol 2020
Earlier this week, we asked wiwibloggs readers to vote for their favourite finalist, based on each singer’s pre-existing performances and obvious talent. After counting 2,027 votes, we can reveal that Tamar Kakalashvili is your favourite to win the grand final of Georgian Idol 2020.
The 22-year-old from Gori says: “If I go to Eurovision, I want to unite all people together.” In our poll, she earned 948 votes, which makes up 46.77% of the total vote.
Poll results: Who should win Georgian Idol and sing for Georgia at Eurovision 2020?
- Tamar Kakalashvili – 46.77% (948 votes)
- Barbara Samkharadze – 26.69% (541 votes)
- Tornike Kipiani – 19.39% (393 votes)
- Mariam Gogiberidze – 7.15% (145 votes)
Tornike Kipiani favourite to win Georgian Idol 2020
Our readers may be backing Tamar, but Tornike Kipiani remains the huge favourite to win the contest. Barbara Samkharadze is also in with a chance since she’s come second in almost every episode.
The public is able to vote for their favourite via both telephone voting as well as through the Facebook Messenger app. Unlike the last season of Georgian Idol, which selected both the artist and the song for Eurovision, this year’s series will only choose the artist. The future winner of Georgian Idol will have their Eurovision song internally selected.
Our Georgian Correspondent Rezo Mamsikashvili will attend the Grand final and he is ready to share lots of snaps on our Instagram page. Stay tuned!

don’t send a heavy metal or rock song this year Georgia
Why not? We need more rock songs in ESC. -_-
Tornike won.
