After three months of auditions, the Bootcamp, the Chair Challenge and Judges Houses, the X Factor Malta live show finally begin tonight. Twelve acts will face the sold-out crowd at the Malta Fairs & Conventions Centre, hoping to impress both the home viewers and the judging panel. But who are your favourites?
We asked wiwibloggs readers who your top picks were from the final 12. And there was one very clear winner. Leading the vote was Malta’s Junior Eurovision champion Destiny Chukunyere. She picked up 784 votes, giving her 29.07% of the total vote.
In second place was the five-piece girl group FAITH — or Five Are In The House. They followed closely behind with 584 votes or 21.65%.
Third place went to Maltese national final 2018 act Jasmine Abela. Her current stint on the X Factor saw her take 289 votes or 10.72% of the vote.
In fourth place was the telegenic duo Yazmin and James. The newly formed paring took 224 votes, or 8.31% of the total.
At the bottom of the table, things aren’t looking so good for the Overs category. All three Overs acts — Celine, Paul Anthony and Ed Abdilla took the bottom three places, with all three having a combined total of only 4% of the overall vote.
But things could change once the acts are put through their paces in the live shows. Up to this point, the contestants have had the comfort of performing on pre-recorded shows. But now they’ll be facing not just the pressures of live television, but also the sold-out MFCC audience. And Maltese audiences don’t hold back!
We know that some acts have experience with this type of performance situation, but can the others handle the pressure? And will there be any unexpected stars emerge from the live shows? All will be revealed on the first X Factor Malta 2020 live show tonight!

The winner of X Factor Malta will represent Malta at Eurovision 2020. It is possible that their Eurovision song will also be selected on the show, otherwise it may be internally selected at a late date.
What do you think? Who will be the first act to go home? And who do you expect to see in the final four? Tell us your thoughts below!
OMG, I can’t believe that Destiny is competing in X Factor. She WON JESC! She doesn’t need the fame from X Factor.
And would you look at that, the Overs category ended up just as the poll said on the first live show, all bottom three.
Ed Abdilla and Paul Anthony have been the first eliminations from this edition of X Factor Malta.
What a sham. I feel bad for the other contestants. It’s as if Chiara had applied to be on the X Factor. I think it’s great if she goes but they should’ve internally picked her instead of going through all this.
Bcuz she won the jesc she s everybody s favourite ? You re all just ridiculous . I hope she will not win that … like Gata in Albania
No ofc not. But i think because she won that they think she WILL win X factor and ESC to. Its not true ofc but i guess people think it.
Ridiculous… If the girl is good enough she is good enough and guess what she is good enough!
Why bothering spending millions in the live shows if the winner is already set up.
I mean it’s the same country that gave Ira Losco €1million to come 12th
They get months of TV out of a popular show, the winner is incidental.
lets hope they buy her a nice song
