Anna Jaeger Semi Final 2 Mars Melodi Grand Prix 2020

Just hours before the opening credits roll on the sophomore episode of Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix 2020, we can reveal that one act has the backing of most of our readers. If their taste is to be trusted, Anna Jæger should comfortably qualify for the MGP 2020 grand final with “How About Mars”.

Anna Jæger is your favourite to win semi-final two of Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix with “How About Mars”

After counting a total of 1,268 votes, we can confirm that Anna is the overwhelming favourite to emerge victorious in tonight’s first semi. “How About Mars” picked up 697 votes or 54.97% of all votes cast.

Rein Alexander comes a distant second with “One Last Time”. The entry attracted 383 votes or 30.21% of all votes cast.

As for the rest of the field, to our readers’ ears at least, there is no hope. Kim Wigaard & Maria Mohn could only muster 154 votes or 12.07% of all votes cast.

Poor Tore Petterson brings up the rear with “The Start Of Something New”. With just 35 votes, it’s unlikely that that “something” will be Eurovision.

Poll Results: Who should win semi-final two of Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix 2020?

  1. Anna Jæger – “How About Mars” 54.97%  (697 votes)
  2. Rein Alexander – “One Last Time” 30.21%  (383 votes)
  3. Kim Wigaard and Maria Mohn – “Fool for Love” 12.07%  (153 votes)
  4. Tore Petterson – “The Start of Something New” 2.75%  (35 votes)

Total Votes: 1,268

”Anna Jaeger is your favorite to win SF2 of Norway’s MGP with How About Mars” is the title I knew was coming since I heard the songs. It might not be outstanding (although it is kinda cute), but it’s up against a cheesy ballad (composition-wise the style I love, but have to admit this one isn’t exactly Hold My Breath or Rise Like a Phoenix), a cheesy schalger (which people seem to like, but juries wouldn’t) and a song which is on-par with Moldovan auditions in 2019 (only on a budget).

Hoping that Jaeger’s presentation is as good/mad/confusing/jawdropping/fun as the video!

I’m only mildly interested in the brother attack in Norway so far. Can the performances be watched the day after at the NRK media page?

I imagine this performance to be weird if they are singing it to each other, no need to kiss to have it be weird. They could of course sing it to the audience but the words and the song as a whole sound like a dialogue between them to me. At least they managed to peak my interest in how it will be staged, none of the others did.
